A walking sim with deep lore and choices to make. It's got a share of bugs and terrain issues that I'd really like to see fixed. It's one of those games that's short, but you play repeatedly to find all of the little secrets and possible endings. If a game somewhere between Death Stranding and Iron Lung, this might be for you.

Repunk has been a very nice surprise.
One of those games which actually pushes you to want to know more about its universe. One of those games that gets you hooked and doesn’t let you stop until you’re sure you have peaked at every corner, until you have discovered every little secret. The atmosphere is great and shows that you do not need benchmarks in graphics to create a very unique and interesting look.
The feeling of loneliness, the urge, the context of your role, where you are absolutely necessary but irrelevant at the same time. The way it does not follow the mainstream current when it comes to objetives or missions and the definitive sensation that you are playing something different and something that was developed after a long brainstorming process.
My only problem? I feel that there was something bigger behind this and I hope one day we can see and find out what happened in Mars. I would be the first one queuing up for it.

My first few attempts ended in running out of oxygen, while walking towards the hardly visible structures on the horizon.
Then i found the vehicle and managed to finish the first extraction, just to fail the test at the end 😅
Then I ended as human fish stick.
Then I tasted the martian air. Well... not the best idea I ever had.
One playthrough of the game is rather short, but that is not all: REPUNK encourages the player to try again, and discover other places and secrets, like the books.
Would buy again :-)

REPUNK was a nicely designed game that actually surprised me when I first played it. The only problem is that you have 48 hrs to do things and it would of been nice to have that be longer maybe a week but other than that I guess the game has replayability to it by starting over and going off to places you haven't been plus the achievements. Other than that if you enjoy exploration games than this game would be pretty good its just that you have a very limited amount of time to do things

First of all, I should say that I really enjoy the mechanics of driving vehichles on other planets with challenging terrain and lower/higher gravity. Mass Effect's Mako, Elite Dangerous' SRVs, Star Citizen's vehicles - all a bit janky but extremely fun.
So this game gets an instant 10/10 from me by just having the drivable LV.
It feels almost perfect to drive, and the only thing I would like to change about it is it's initial acceleration - sometimes it's literally starting from a crawl.
Other than that, some audio balancing would be nice (some songs on the radio are too loud).

I gotta say that the game oozes charm from all of its pores.
Gaming shouldn't be about stupidly polished products, but about having ideas and putting them to practise. This is the case of Repunk, where everything is trimmed until the central idea comes unto view. Short, simple, even basic you could say, but it is all it needs to be. And everything conflates into a meditative experience that lets you soak in the game's atmosphere and its themes. In this mindset, you wonder about its world, caring more about what might be than about what actually is, until you discover that there is a bit more than meets the eye...

Really unique game!
I should note to potential players that the primary gameplay loop seems to be quite short. It encourages replayability over having a single, longer experience, much like a rogue-like. There is perma-death, and starting from scratch. You have a limited time to complete your mission, so you are not able to explore the whole game in a single session. But the game, by contrast, encourages exploration and discovery. So in order to do this, you need to re-play re-punk ... get it?
I love the environment and overall atmosphere of the game. It really puts you into an alien world, with lots to discover, but with the added tension of having limited resources and time. I want to see what happens if I don't follow my orders 100% next time...

If you are into start over every time you die, then this is the game for you!
While I'm never personally a fan of starting over from the start when dying, I can still recommend the game;
Especially for the vibes it gives when playing Jazz in your 'Device' and sending it off Sand Dunes, while the 'Device' seems to be indestructible.
If you are an adventurer and someone who likes these kind of mechanics, then you should definitely be grabbing this and supporting an indie developer!

I find this game both nice and disappointing at the same time, because
Nice:
Great introduction
Fantastic vehicle design
Great HUD design
Oxygen and frost mechanics are a nice touch
Disappointing:
The gameplay is too empty, the presentation makes it look more interesting, than it actually is
Mission time limit - kinda defeats the whole exploration idea, instead of creating the sense of urgency and danger, it just feels annoying.
Mars environment is rather bland, the vehicle dynamics is rather unnatural. After you restart a couple of times, there is little motivation to try again, because the experience is simply not so rewarding, as it could be in a game like this.
The first starting minutes are interesting, but after that, the game fizzles out pretty quickly.

REPUNK is a bit of an atmospheric experience. The story unfolds as you find various glass books and audio recordings strewn around the Martian landscape. When you first start playing you might think it is a very short experience, as it certainly can be. But, the game has multiple endings and multiple locations for you to find. Second, Third, and more replays are recommended.
Graphically the game represents a bit of a Canyon or something like that. I'm not a Rocktologist so I can't give you the exact description that would be accurate. A crater filled with mountains and hills? Is that something that makes more sense? Yeah, well... That's what you're in. The outside of this area is terribly
full of radiation
, which you'll learn on that first attempt of being an overzealous adventurer.
Old, dilapidated machinery and buildings are strewn around the landscape. Can you enter them?
Not most of them
. Exploration is your best friend, and the game's somewhat small landscape allows you to focus on exploring new areas on your next run.
Sounds are good, and music is a range of classical music and the official REPUNK soundtrack that's pretty upbeat. There's some wind, some eerie noises, and despite being on what one might consider a dead planet it certainly feels as if there might be something alive here.
There is
The core gameplay mechanic is driving your LV around Mars to explore or focus on actually completing your mission. It is best described as Mel Gibson stealing Thomas the Tank Engine during a drunken stupor and driving his way onto the newest Mad Max demanding to be remembered. Basically the LV is like a Snowcat with an odd center of mass. It takes awhile to get the hang of driving it, but once you do it is fairly easy to get around. Until then, yeah that aforementioned description rings true.
In the end, I treated this much like a game where I just drove around Mars and just enjoyed the ride. I think that's the part of the game that truly stands out. Just jump in, explore, and chill.
