I really like this game, especially for the price!
BUT I can't seem to do any damage to any of the bosses!
I've mixed out the upgrades on the first ship but there's no evidence I'm even hitting the bosses when I get to them!
Any tips?

So, I bought this game because I noticed it had one negative review and it looked a little interesting. And at this pricing, sale or no sale, it seems alright to buy.
Now I had a rough start (just started getting a hang of liking and playing SHUMPs) , but after getting accustomed to it I got into a flow and got a small chunk of the game completed. It is much like Vampire Survivors but side scrolling enemies. Its pretty alright, and I had quite some fun trying to push as far as I can with changing the difficulty I faced every-time I beat the boss, giving a little more challenge and variety as you replay the levels. I unlocked a different ship and discovered what type of play-style is much more fun for me with this game.
Now on to the problems I was seeing. I can definitely see this game frustrating players, as the gun auto firing makes it less straining on having to click to shoot, but it does get rid of some strategy like firing as you pass by an enemy. Every level is a requirement to survive 10 mins of weaker enemies. Once that time is up, you will then fight the boss, which so far into the difficulties is the same boss, but I'm pushing to see if it changes up.
You are also limited to 10 level ups during the missions. To me, it feels like it is too restrictive, and may be hard for majority of players, although I do see it as a clever design as well. Personally, however, it feels like you should be able to get your 10 level ups, then face the boss. OR gain more than 10 levels, giving you something to strive for as you wait for those 10 mins to pass. That could possibly help make it a little more accessible to those not strongly skilled in this genre.
All in all, I do have my fun with it, I'd recommend it for people to check it out, and if they don't like how it plays, refund it. For me it is cheap enough for me to keep it, and I had enough fun to give it several more tries.

First I want to preface the review by saying I think this is a good game for the on the rails space shooter audience that like a challenge, but it's not for me. Honestly I was expecting the roguelite elements to be way more impactful than they were honestly the roguelite elements kind of suck I've played similar games without roguelite elements where the pick ups actually seem way more empowering than being max level and the outside stage power ups grinding for a 2% change when a 15 percent change in aoe is barely noticeable isn't very great for a roguelite. I think they could have done a lot more by choosing different more unique upgrades for the ships it's possible that they were afraid of making the game too easy for people that like the really challenging on the rails bullet hell type game. I think I'd rather play a game with strong pick ups where my ships feels awesome eventually than a game where I have roguelite elements and still feel suck. So maybe a positive for Hardcore on the rail space shooters but definitely wouldn't recommend if you fall into the make my thing awesome eventually crowd.

While it is neat to see another game trying to play like Gunlocked, there are very few upgrades and they are the same basic things each time. On top of this, playing a run feels quite repetitive, like the stages could have a bit more going on as well.
Space Strider is playable and okay-ish, but there's not enough meat on the bones to make for a compelling enough experience to recommend to anybody.
