Deep Deep Deep Nightmare is a short but sweet experience. You can tell it’s a one-person project, but it has a ton of charm and the gameplay is really nice. It might look familiar at first glance because it is inspired by The Binding of Isaac and Brotato, but it doesn’t actually have anything to do with either of those games. This is not a roguelite. It is an arena shooter where you earn currency to unlock new guns, cosmetics and power-ups, and you have to go across a few floors fighting different bosses to reach the end with the final boss. There are a total of 13 bosses, and each one of them is pretty unique. It doesn’t have any real repetition. It is definitely bullet hell, but one of the nice things is that you earn currency even when you fail, so it’s just a matter of how good you are at the game in order to beat it. There are a couple of small issues though. I would have loved to have a way to disable the screen shake, and in the third level the bullets are the same color as the background, which makes it a little hard to see and dodge them. It is probably done to make things more challenging. The music is also super cool. It really keeps you entertained during the experience, and it goes pretty hard. It's just a short game with a lot of fun to get out of. It would have been nice to have some sort of endless mode or boss rush, but for a one-person first game this is pretty nice.
