Erannoth Renaissance is a huge open world, party based, hex-grid CRPG with a huge emphasis on story/conversation made by a single dedicated dev. And it shows in a tremendous good way. Looks like a cheap mobile game at first glance, but boy it has depth deeper than an endless abyss. Remember Darklands made by Microprose back in the 80ths? It's more than that. Roam freely through a vast open world, fight undead, vampires and bandits, build relationships with your companions, trade with everbody, make decisions, friends, foes and even lovers. Build your char, level up, want to be a druid rogue healer casting fireballs? Or an intimidating tank with high skill in diplomacy? Go ahead, there are almost no restrictions. And hey, you can become a vampire too! And if it still won't fit your style go ahead modding almost everything in this game. But be warned: It's text-heavy and if you're more of the fast paced action player type it's definitely the wrong game for you. Otherwise you will find tons of handwritten stories and conversations, quests, random events, world economy, tactical combat and trade skills to pursue. Still in early acccess Erannoth comes with more content than most AAA+ games, story & sandbox mode (you can roam freely in story mode too), easy accessible modding and a responsive solo-dev who really cares about his game & players. Highly reccomended immersive rpg timesink.

a fantastic, deep and relaxing RPG. a perfect example of why indie dev projects are just superior to AAA: this has a soul. it has great atmosphere, insanely detailed stats, perks and skills with a depth that is never found in any of the more well known "brands" or "franchises". and no politics shoved in your face unlike Baldur's Gate 3, or other trash that are just there to make the gender war palatable by shoving this crap into otherwise good games. I loooove the art style. this is what we never got in the past: it was all ugly, manly "women", grey-brown colors everywhere, or you had to go anime/manga style - the Asian art styles are not a bad thing, mind you, but if you want any more realism tinged art, you were stuck with ugly, inhuman and depressing. this is not some gloomy, nihilistic modern trash. it's bright, optimistic and soothes your soul, instead of making you enjoy the virtual suffering of others like some ghoulish future empire slave. the game's setup is unusual, just like the card-based RPGs the dev made before this, like Erranorth Chronicles. give both of these games a try! They are really worth it. After Erranorth Chronicles I wondered how I could ever have enjoyed any other card game, or strategy / RPG before it. the way the stats interact was just so much better than anything I had played before or since. I'm not deep enough into this game here, but it also grabbed me like the other game.

Here's my quick breakdown: . Combat 5/10 - It's hard to understand what's happening most of the time. . Artwork: 8/10 - It's very nice to look at and I like the map view. . Story telling: 10/10 - My goodness how refreshing. Choices seem to make a huge difference in the way the game plays out. . Bugs: 10/10 - Haven't seen any. . Soundtrack: 7/10 - I like all of the musical numbers quite a bit, but there's no set "Combat music" or "Town music." or anything like that. They play whenever they like, and it can be a bit annoying at times to listen to battle music while walking around a city. . Replayability: 10/10 - This is one of those games you can play forever, if you want. . Target audience: Adults. I wouldn't want my kid to play this, and they wouldn't want to play it either. . Difficulty: Hard. I'm struggling in this game. Combat is not the only challenge you will find. This is good, in my opinion. Total: 8/10. Great game with lots of potential. I think it's well worth the asking price even in early access.
