An excellent bite-sized metroidvania that nails its graphical style and sound, while stumbling over some awkward writing and a sort of anti-climatic ending. The movement system is unique enough and the platforming challenging enough that I was entertained without banging my head against the wall. There's collectibles but they didn't feel all that important. Something better than an alternative ending would have been nice - a power up of some kind. If you like NES games and metroidvanias, this is a great choice.

Getting one ending locks you out of the other for no reason except to pad play time. Host of jank issues with movement/attacks. Extremely over the top messaging with no interesting gameplay ramifications. Would not recommend in its current state.

en ру Alruna easily became my “Game of the Month” — stylish, fun, and probably the best catch of the Summer Sale. The art and character designs? Chef’s kiss. Old-school pixel vibe done right — not every dev nails it like this. It was a pleasure to stay immersed in the game the whole way through. Pure style! Fights and quests aren’t a cakewalk either, which I love. Sure, climbing vines is pure pain (RIP my joystick’s up button), but nothing feels unfair. Honestly, I think some folks just blame the controls for their weak skills. Finished the game with 47 drops and skipped the final boss — turns out you can’t reload after the ending, but I’ll gladly replay it someday and go for a full run. Looking forward to a sequel — or at least more stylish games like this from the dev! -- "Игра месяца" для меня Alruna ) Красивая и интересная метроидвания. Наверное лучшее, что я взял во время летней распродажи. Первое что выделяется - довольно необычный и стильный сет персонажей и локаций! Очень приятная олдскул графика, что получается далеко не у каждого разработчика. Было приятно находиться в игре на протяжении всего процесса. Чистый стиль! Квесты и битвы с врагами интересные и не легкие, что как по мне - также важно. Да, лазать по лианам это боль, я даже сломал кнопку вверх на джойстике ) Но нет чего-то такого, что мешало бы пройти игру. Я думаю многие, кто жалуются на управление просто пытаются оправдать свою слабость )) В итоге я прошел игру без последнего босса собрав 47 капель, оказывается к старому сохранению после завершения вернуться нельзя, но я с удоволсьтвием как-нибудь попробую пройти еще раз всё полностью. Будем ждать продолжение или еще похожие стильные игры от автора!
