It is not a bad game, but have to change the review to negative due to my game save file being deleted because of a bug. Pros: - One of the, if not, the most accessible deckbuilder game I have seen so far. - Has enough strategic depth IMO (but that varies for people). - Awesome steam achievements to go for. It is one of the few games that I bothered to go for 100% achievements. Cons: - Could have more content (more hats, characters etc.) and gameplay optimisations (like the game remembering the last picked special card). - A TAD bit pricey considering the amount of current content. - There is a bug which registers keyboard inputs when the game window is not active and left on main menu. It caused my game save to be deleted. Conclusion: The devs knows exactly what they are going for while making the game which is accessibility, a trait that is rarely found in games of the same genre (like slay the spire, which requires you to read through an ENTIRE wiki to optimise your strategy). Overall, I am satisfied with the current state of the game and I always welcome more new content in the game.

A cute, wholesome little deckbuilder! As someone who adores and is obsessed with pigs, I've been excited to finally play the full release of this game. Nif Nif is a family-friendly version of Slay the Spire, with a bright, cartoony style. Instead of attacking or killing enemies, you're trying to "clean" them, and instead of taking damage to your health, you have a cleanliness bar. Think Sonic rescuing creatures from Dr. Robotnik, except your "attacks" are tissues and sponges, and your "armor" is taking piggy mud baths. This game is simpler in scope than StS-- instead of three floors, there's only one track with a few branching paths to pick from. This makes each run much shorter than its many contemporaries, with my longest so far lasting only 12 minutes, and my shortest about 7. IMO this suits the more casual nature of the game, making it better suited for a quick session instead of the 30-50 minute runs I've had with Slay the Spire. There are the standard attack and defense cards, plush a third type of card that can draw, buff your character, etc. Despite being a game aimed towards kids, there is a surprising amount of content and depth. I'm only a few hours in but I feel I've just scratched the surface in terms of unlocks. New cards, skins, and hats which buff your character are unlocked via an XP system, which accumulates at the end of each run and unlocks new things with each level, sort of like in Monster Train. There's also a cat character, whom I haven't even touched yet, but they have their own separate track of unlockables. This is definitely easier than Slay the Spire, and it doesn't have that same magic, intensely precise balancing that has you theorycrafting for hours. It doesn't have collectible relics which can drastically alter your playstyle. What it does have, however, is a lot of charm, and just enough to keep you coming back again and again. I don't see this game becoming a major obsession (i have 200 hours in Slay the Spire and still haven't cracked Ascension 15) or something I could get sucked into all day, but does it make me smile? Yes. Does it have a cozy, sweet atmosphere which makes me feel way more relaxed and chill? Also yes. I don't see myself marathoning this game until I'm sick of it, but I think I'll revisit it for a little while every day, just to see what's there. Not every game has to be an absolute, immaculate masterpiece! Sometimes it just needs to offer something special, and I think Nif Nif has it in spades. If you're looking for something hardcore that will suck the life out of you for weeks, this isn't it. But if you want something a little different in a world full of intense, violent games, this is it. 100% worth the price in my opinion. I hope the devs add more content to this, but if not, I hope they keep making cute stuff like this!

what a CLEAN game, very much a "slay the spire" -like game. but with it being about cleaning I would argue this game is a "clean the spire" game Nif Nif and cat having different sets of cards to unlock and build decks with is awesome. I have already won a couple runs as it is. I'm looking forward to unlock all the hats, cards and might even look to grab all the achievements in this game: https://youtube.com/live/Ee8W3AVkfVE?feature=share

I bought this game on a whim and am so glad I did, it's easily the most accessible deck builder I've ever played. The art is really cute, there's no violence, and it's uncomplicated so it's perfectly suited to young children, yet there is still enough depth of strategy that people of any age can have a lot of fun with this game. I'm finding it hard to put this game down since I started playing earlier today, and I can see it being a go-to when I need a break from the sweaty hero shooters and FPS games that I've been playing lately. The developers have really achieved a great balance here - 10/10.

Hey, not every adult is much into deckbuilders or looking for something serious. This is a super cute game to have some chill fun with. Cat is the GOAT! There are frogs! You can unlock skins for your two characters and even for your cards. Completely unnecessary! I love it! P.S. I almost didn't buy cos they took down the demo before I could try it. Hope they bring it back to convince more people, this game is worth it More cozy and combat-free recommendations? > Treefrog wants to chill <
