Drug Wars Reviews
Drug Wars is a gritty, gory romp through a futuristic New York City, circa 3100, where severe global warming conditions have resulted in a harsh divide between upper-class Brooklyn gang bosses and a booming population of engineered Neanderthal bottom-dwellers.

If I could delete a game on my steam list it would be this. Do not buy this under any circumstances. I bought it when it was called Merchants of Brooklyn and it was so badly received they changed the name of the game and re-released it.

A butchered game idea, a butchered game engine, and a butchered purchase. The graphics in this game make Quake 2 look realistic. Animation and character movement are choppy and sloppy. Buying this game will make you feel miserable. Use your money to buy another game, or to donate to Wikipedia; the world would be a better place either way.

Needs to be updated for Windows 1 and modern systems. This doesn't play or load at all on windows 11.

I bought this early and consigned it to the pile of games called 'Big Mistakes'. If you are thinking about buying this game, don't. When I got this the Alpha didn't even load. The game has pretty much been abandoned, and essentially if you paid for this, you were robbed.
I can't believe Steam still have this game up for sale....

I have no idea why this is called Drug wars. This game definitely is only maybe a third done. Play this game windowed; it'll run smoother.
The pros: weapons are unique, you get ammo for finishers, the one enemy model is used in varying degrees (punching, shooting, throwing), everything you throw explodes, the weapons are easy to use, you regain health and it still remains tense at times, the puzzles are easy, you're never going to get lost in the levels, and the AI can be really tough.
The cons: sometimes the enemies will lay on the ground but still shoot, they hobble around too much for the sniper to be much use, there's only one enemy model (three or four if you count the machines), there are loads of enemies in long hallways, this looks like it was made in 2004, and the AI can be exploited.
Honestly, a lot better than I thought it would be. This feels like a mod that became its own executable but failed its Kickstater or something. If they had a bigger team (or if cracking the hieroglyphs that is the CryEngine code was as easy as Unreal or Source) this could've been more polished—well, obviously.
I think games like these are the reason not many developers used CryEngine back in the day (that, and the whole 'use only one core' thing).

The trailer makes it look really cool with some Halo/Quake style fast paced crazyness and it uses the same engine as Crysis but it's actually a buggy, broken mess. Within the first 2 minutes i got stuck in a wall and i had to reload the last checkpoint. The enemies also have zero AI and their tactics consist of either standing still and shooting or charging at you like kamikaze soldiers.
It's as if someone remade a low budget FPS game from the Playstation 2 in the Cry Engine.
Not very good.
Buy a sandwich instead.
2/10.

Game not finished. Allot of bugs. This game come out under different name, but because game was so bad they changed name to another to get more sales. Not worth a penny!

this game despite being based on a interesting concept is nothing more than a monetized alpha turned abandonware.

Worst game i ever purchased and i made the mistake of preordering... The game is so bad that they had to change the name from Merchants of Brooklyn to Drug Wars. On release, the alpha version was released and buggy as hell. Then they released the correct version and it was about as bad. Terrible, terrible game!
