I've played through this funny little early access boomer shooter twice now and there is no heterosexual explanation to the way Wayne answers the call from Zeph at the start of the game.
That's it, that's my very nuanced review.

Bane Murain is a singleplayer retro-fps that's understandably rough around the edges for an early access solo-dev title, and quite a bit more difficult then I expected on the "intended" difficulty that's just named after the game. I found it a little frustrating in places but it has a certain 2000s, Deviantart-core charm not unlike Project Absentia. The dialogue is stiff in places but Dayne's quips are amusing enough, what with him frequently flubbing or misremembering his one-liners. I also can't say I've seen a retro-FPS with romance options before, so that's certainly unique.
I think it needs a bit of tuning and some bugfixing, and much more ammo drops, but it has potential. Looking forward to further episodes- I might play them on one difficulty lower though, for a chiller time. I advise turning off the "Evil Doors" option to avoid Build-engine-esque deaths at the threshold of said doors. I also recommend getting the upgrade for the rocket launcher that removes self-damage at your earliest convenience.
