So, first thing out of the way.... this game does not play like the original Berzerk as it feels more like a run & gun in the vein of Robotron or Smash TV. All negative reviews are understandable from that regard.
With that said, it is a fairly game with tight dual stick controls. If you can get it on sale, it is a worthwhile purchase; as long as you know what you're getting into before hand.
