This is the best FPS roguelite ever made. This game is optimized well for UE5, the gunplay is up there with the best in the FPS genre, it has an intriguing story, and it has a refreshing art direction. This game is worth its full price tag easily. My only complaint is that this game should not be Steam Deck verified. Playing this game at anything less than 60 FPS unplayable in my opinion and the Deck cannot manage that even with lossless scaling.

Awesome shooter, music, sound effects, chaos - couldn't stop playing. One guy made this and it's crazy that it just kept on going and looks to continue to. It feels like a game I'd want to have made myself. Sick af Would be cooler if more songs were added but that's alright because you can throw on w/e in the background as well and it enhances gameplay significantly.

A pretty neat, albeit very short right now, roguelight shooter with destructible terrain. If you're familiar with these types of dash-to-dodge bullet 'hell' style FPS'es, it won't provide much difficulty at first, but you get an opportunity to up difficulty somewhat after an hour or two when you finish 3 full zones. The voice-in-your-head companion is a little grating and quite slow at picking up on the story, but I quite enjoy the 'opponent' and their presence everywhere and voice work. In some ways, VOID/BREAKER gives me the same lovely rush as RoboQuest (another roguelight FPS, albeit with simpler movement systems and no destructible terrain). Very well done! For the developer: I hope you add a 'hard start' mode similar to the original Hades - I made it to the current final boss after just 2-3 runs or so, and I would love to play a mode where certain difficulty modifiers are basically forced and locked on from before you can even adjust the others. (e.g. no 1 hp protection and some generic speed/health/damage modifiers).

Addictive non stop shooting. Fun game loop, unforgiving. This game precisely reminds me why I love gaming, the dedication put into this game by one solo dev and the amount of fun it provides it’s not comparable with big name studios. Love the indie scene love indie games. Thanks a lot for this game Daniel 👌🙏

Beautiful Rougelite game, while it isn't finished yet, the content that has already been added is very satisfying and fun to experience and play.

VOID/BREAKER is honestly such a fun take on a roguelike shooter. It's a game that can take some getting used to--it took me unlocking several upgrades, which carry over between runs, to overcome the first three zones which make up Act 1 of this game's story. Speaking of, and without saying much ABOUT the story, I actually kinda love this game's narrative! As you progress through a run, you can find messages left behind by previous Subjects detailing their experiences inside the system, some trying desperately to escape, and others embracing it, even worshipping it! An intercom will allude to the kind of digital world you're trapped inside, and the AI overseeing the runs of you and several other Subjects is constantly looming overhead, almost always in view. The only irony is that, in a setting that's so seemingly oppressive, and maybe reminiscent of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream," at least judging by some of those stories I've found from other Subjects, you have SUCH freedom of movement, and a real wealth of options to escape the horde of enemies that are constantly encroaching on your position. I usually play these games with auto-sprint on, just to stay at speed, and the slide feels serviceable for evasion in most situations. The real apple of my eye is this game's dash, though. If we were to EVER get a Titanfall 3 (coping), I honestly think adding the ability to dash might be the revolution it would need. VOID/BREAKER also eventually introduces a grapple to the player, although it can only be used at specific points in the game's arenas (only a tiny let down, because it's still very fun to swing around with!), and the ability to wall run in Act 4, which feels surprisingly well done! Of course, this game is still in early access, but I haven't noticed any real game-breaking issues in my time playing. VOID/BREAKER feels like a real gem of roguelike gameplay, and it's something that I'll certainly be returning to for a while! If you happen to be reading this, Daniel, thank you for making such a compelling shooter, and I'm really looking forward to where this game goes next!

When I was wee, I saw an ad on tv for the SNES. I can't remember it much, but it was this young bloke getting wired into this giant room sized computer thing and he became this weird cyborg videogame hybrid c*nt, neurologically hooked up to a game system and it was interspersed with all these rapid edits of new Nintendo games in their pathetic 16 bit glory. This ♥♥♥♥ floored me and I was enamoured with the flashy technolgical excess with which it hyperbolically embodied "what it feels like to game", and I from then on have been chasing what this ad represented, as opposed to the harsh reality of the fact that it was basically just trying to sell me games where you pretty much just held the Right arrow on the dpad and pressed B every now and then to make your 2d sprite jump over pixelated lava or dodge a slow moving plasma ball. Void Breaker is the first time I've actually gotten what I wanted out of gaming, some 30 years later. An absolutely flawless experience from start to finish (...?), graphics, sound design, music (big ups the Ford massif), progress, difficulty, upgrades, weapons, replayability, atmosphere. Often gets to the point when it feels like it's so intense it's genuinely doing damage to my brain, but that's ok, I wasn't really using it anyway.

Pure FPS gun play perfection. Its like all the core mechanics from all the best shooters distilled into one perfect FPS. Then add the near limitless gun customisations... brilliant! Aesthetics, graphics and sound design are excellent. Fully destructible environments! This game deserves everyone's attention.
