[h1]Company of Heroes 2 - Southern Fronts[/h1] [h2]Worst DLC of CoH2[/h2] [h3]Really not worth trying![/h3] The Southern Fronts DLC is the third and final Theater of War in the game. This expansion is heavily focused on Co-op Victory Point missions. On one hand, this approach can be a very appealing aspect of the expansion, however it is quite difficult to find other players to complete the missions due to the large number of scenarios to play and the considerable amount of time each one requires. In this expansion, playing alongside allied AI is not a viable option, as it consistently fails to handle enemy obstacles and late-game assaults. On the other hand, this expansion continues to suffer from the same gameplay issues as the two previous expansions. The difficulty scaling of each level remains absurd and inconsistent, seemingly in an attempt to artificially increase the difficulty. Once again, the enemy army receives a large number of infantry reinforcements and armored vehicles to recapture the Victory Points during the final minutes of what seems the last minutes of the match. At this stage, if all three points are lost, it becomes almost impossible to reclaim them and repel the advance. I have lost count of how many times I have failed in the cooperative scenarios of this Theater of War for this simple and unfair reason, wasting not only my own time but also that of some teammates I have played with on these missions. This is the DLC that features the largest number of scenarios, yet at the same time it offers the least amount of relevant or entertaining content in the game. The only truly enjoyable part of this expansion is the Solo Challenges, which feature a few interesting scenarios, game mechanics and objectives. I genuinely do not recommend buying this DLC. It feels like a low-effort content with poorly designed gameplay and with irrelevant history. [h2]Last comments[/h2] After reviewing all the Theater of War expansions in Company of Heroes 2, I realized many things. First, all of these expansions were created during the same year the game itself was released, which helps explain many of its shortcomings. This additional content could have easily been used to create more missions for the Soviet campaign, or even for a potential Wehrmacht campaign. Obviously, this would have required more work, but it would have resulted in a far better outcome compared to the DLCs that were actually released. Unfortunately, this content was wasted. What really stands out to me is that the Theaters of War content were developed only a few months after the game’s launch, meaning it was produced in a very short timeframe rather than being given proper development time. I felt truly disappointed after playing these expansions. They had incredible potential, but once again, it was flawed.
