The game does a very good job of recreating the 1936 situation at Madrid, as it was. As usual, SGS has great attention to historical detail. The Orders-based movement system took some getting used to for me, but it's just another variable now. If you can handle a chit-pull hex and counter war game, you can handle this system. SGS keeps getting better at making engaging and historically accurate games.
My only complaint would be that the UI is not that great. But then, I'm not that great either. Luckily, PBEM is possible with all SGS games, so that's an option.
I've been told I can be an SGS/Avalon cheerleader. But it that's true, it's because they make great, fun games with great graphics, and at a reasonable price.
