This game seems to be inspired by Rolo to the Rescue on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. It has similar mechanics including saving animals from cages, but it has the added benefit of not having the horrid slippy mechanics that game had. It's very cute if you're looking for something similar, and is presented as a very all ages experience. You could definitely hand this off to your young kids to play as its not too difficult either.

The game has very floaty controls, bland level design and lacks any form of replay value. It's a really easy game, but you will die a lot anyway due to how poorly designed the levels are. Also, you can't rebind the controls for some reason. The sprite work and animation are both amazing, though. If you still want to buy the game, you can download it for free on the app store, but this PC port just isn't worth it.

This is a fun retro-style, 2-D platformer. However, all of the non-automatic game progression achievements can be obtained in the first level so it does not really motivate you to spend time with the game and explore. I did not find myself attempting to 100% the collectibles. The game would be more engaging if achievements were awarded for collecting everything. Instead I found myself breezing through levels after the 1st few achievements. Or perhaps, an in-game store, so collecting things motivated you to buy character costumes or weapons or something. To my knowledge no secret levels or anything are unlocked for collecting things. The game has some variety to it and a good difficulty curve... both things I appreciate.
