Edit: Developer responded and fixed matters after I and others complained so here's a revised review.
The game doesn't seem to have any sort of direction. It feels like someone was sitting around with a friend and went "A good idle game has numbers go up, has a couple forms of progression, and allows you to ascend." And then figured out the most barebones way to do those things.
This game is so lacking in a feeling of depth, that it's actually a little inspiring.
The best way to progress is to attack the monster you can kill automatically. There's no reward for going further, and you end up losing massive progress if you try. This could easily be a programmed button but nope, we get to figure it out. Honestly the few seconds every hour or so to figure out where we can kill is the closest this game has to gameplay so I guess its' better for lacking that QOL feature. There's a small loop of kill stuff for an hour, go to town and spend your currencies, come back and wait a few more hours.
It feels less like an idle/auto game and more like one of those desktop games where there's just something there.
For a free to play, I'd have nothing to complain about. It's okay, I actually kinda like it now that the developer changed it so I'm not punished for interacting with it.
As a $5 game?
It's still not great, but I'd call it neutral. If I could neutral review I would, since I can't, I guess I'll give it a positive. If you've played all the FTPs and decided you wanted something a bit different, it's here for you.

You need to understand though that I don't think it's a piece of modern art or some kinda amazing piece, it's that I genuinely believe games should be allowed to be mediocre.
Developers learn from working on games that they spend time on and release, and they can't learn if they fear reprisal.
This developer is willing to listen, even if they were a little defensive originally, so I think they deserve the chance to learn, improve, and move on to other projects.
Do I think you should buy this game? That depends. Are you into really hands off idle games? If so, sure.
Do you want an intense experience? No.
Ultimately, the developer has 4000+ hours on Asprite so I'm pretty sure they made all the art themselves. So like, it's not an asset flip, and that's kinda worth $5 on its own.
