Despite the communist party being in control of Ukraine in 1991, there are no real left-wing options or paths to take in the game.

Interesting game, however the rules need to be clearer so you don't have to start over.

Although I have a very close relationship with Ukraine (due to family ties) and genuinely wanted to enjoy this game, I just can’t.
To summarize, the game is simply unplayable. You log in, see a map, and are given a few buttons to click—which ultimately do nothing. That’s about it.
The store page describes this game as:
"A global strategy game primarily focused on Ukraine after the Soviet occupation. You are given control of Ukraine with the opportunity to change history and intervene in the events of that time."
Unfortunately, you’re not going to be doing any of that.
At some point, Russia invades and occupies half your country (we’re all too familiar with that story). But beyond that, the game lacks the depth and functionality to provide a meaningful experience.
Overall, this title should not be on Steam. The developer needed at least another year or two to make this an actually playable game. I’m left wondering if the primary motivation was simply to cash in.
What’s even more frustrating is that Almost Games has now released an Israel DLC—for what? The base game itself is barely functional, with the most fundamental features still unimplemented.
Sadly, the positive reviews seem to come mainly from those who want to support the developer out of patriotism, not because they genuinely enjoy the game.
In the end, the developer’s studio name says it all: Almost a Game.
It’s a shame.

(4070ti, 64gb ddr5, ryzen 7 7700)

It's a fun simulator! By 2005 I had my economy well into profits. I did do a bit of annexing...Transnistria, the two provinces of southern Belarus, east Moldova...ooof:/ At least it's just a game!

Simulator of Ukraine 1991 is a global strategy game that allows the player to take on the role of the President of Ukraine in 1991. The player can make decisions about the country's internal and external affairs, as well as influence the course of events in the world.
The game has a number of advantages. First, it is very realistic. The player must take into account factors such as the economy, politics, social mood, and international relations. Second, the game offers a wide range of possibilities. The player can choose their own path for Ukraine, from a democratic country to an authoritarian dictatorship. Third, the game is well-made. The graphics and sound are of high quality, and the interface is clear and user-friendly.
Of course, the game also has some drawbacks. First, the game is still in early access, so it may have some bugs or shortcomings. Second, the game can be quite challenging for beginners.
Overall, Simulator of Ukraine 1991 is a great game that offers an engaging and realistic experience. Players who are interested in Ukrainian history or strategy games should definitely try this game.
Here are some specific examples of how the game allows the player to influence the course of events:
The player can choose whether Ukraine will join NATO or remain neutral.
The player can decide whether Ukraine will develop its own nuclear weapons.
The player can start a war with Russia or other countries.
The game offers a lot of replayability. The player can try different scenarios and see how they affect Ukraine's future.
I recommend this game to anyone who is interested in Ukrainian history or strategy games.

This is early access, so I am reviewing it as is. Seems bug free, the game did not crash once during my 9 hours of play. English in places is wrong, like the word peaple (should be people) and the word inveztorz (should be investors). The game itself is fun for the limited amount of time the developer had to design it. There is currently no specified end goal, nor a tutorial. I expect both will be added over time. Once I did every mission in the mission tree, the game was pretty much over, since I defeated Russia. I don't understand what the point of the nukes is, but maybe that will be added later on. As it stands I don't see they make any difference if I keep them (but they should). Also it doesn't seem like Russia is making any actual plays to gain territory (though there are some messages in the game). Perhaps also something that will come. All in all a good start to a game, but needs some more improvement to make the game challenging and repeatable.

It a cool game, but it not worth any money
All of the focus trees just led up to destorying Russia and they're all the same and the same effect just different flag changes, all the paths are the same effects just give buffs to end corruption, and better eco where the buildings for those are just a waste of money. The only thing you worry about is just building military factories and just placing your troops near your border and just clicking focus tree that just change borders that don't affect nothing toward you or the countries around the world it just lifeless.
Not trying to sound rude, but this game is dry and boring it not worth any money even if the reviews are postive
