In its current version I cannot recommend Mosaico. While the program does what it says and does it very well, you cannot run it and any other Steam games at the same time. Nor can you Stream anything as long as it is running. I have DisplayFusion and it is running and I have not encountered ANY problems with it running in the background and interferring with the ability to run any other Steam applications or games. To the Developer: Please fix this problem! If you don't know how to do it, then maybe you can contact the makers of DisplayFusion for some tips.

Great idea but the usability is just not really there. The capture function to store your desktop state at least remembers my open applications but it never loads in the same place. Its probably not compatible with Multi display. On top of that the ability to snap windows to their grid also fails frequently when switching between users on my windows 10 machine. These things combined basically make this software totally unusable for my set up. I spend more time resetting the software trying to undo the bugs than doing what I want I end up just going without it.

I'm going to tentatively recommend this, but ONLY on sale, and only if you're willing to jump through the convoluted hoops necessary to get it functioning properly. TDLR at the bottom Looking through the reviews on this, I saw a lot of complaints about how you couldn't run the program unless Steam was also running, and how it always showed your status in both Steam and Discord as playing it. Right off this bat, this would have been a deal breaker for me. However, most of those reviews are from eight-ish years ago, and upon further inspection, I saw newer claims that this problem had been fixed. I really want a program like this, so I decided to give it a shot. Upon launching, it shows in both my Steam and Discord status. So this is not turned off by default, and from what I can see there are no options to toggle this off within the program itself. The community discussion has a pinned post explaining putting Steam in beta mode as part of a workaround. I don't want to do this, and this workaround is from 2015 so there's no excuse why a workaround like that would still be required after all this time. The alternative solution is that you're offered a serial number upon launching the program. You can download the program directly from the developer's website and have it completely independent of Steam using that serial. This is another convoluted workaround, but it removes the "now playing" status and reliance on Steam. In my opinion, this is lazy and unacceptable. This program was released on Steam in 2013 and there is NO excuse why any of these problems haven't since been patched. That said, once having jumped those hoops, the program works as intended and exactly as I had hoped it would. So why bother getting it through Steam at all and not directly from the website? Because of sales. ONLY get this while it's on sale. I would argue it's not worth the full price of $20 to begin with, but such laziness should especially not be rewarded. If you don't mind all the necessary steps though, it's a decent program. TLDR: -Does what it says -Annoying and unnecessary hoops to remove the "now playing" status -Worth having if said hoops don't annoy you -ONLY get on sale

This worked fine until the message "Sofware not registered" started to apear. I sent a mail to [email protected] but they dont respond. My license code was supossed to be managed by Steam but right now practically I've lost $179MXN. Check the comunity forums here on Steam, it seems i am not the only one with this issue.😒

So, I've been using Mosaico for admittedly only a few days...but the promo videos look better than the software itself. Mosaico tends to crash a bit, and adds a measurable amount of time to startup. The "Auto" button isn't intelligent at all - command prompt windows are crushed to the point where nothing is legible. Windows are frequently sized to the point where only the title bar is visible. The UI isn't terribly intuitive; it's simple to the point where it begs questions like "I think I can make additional desktops, but I don't see how", and "Is there a way to manually create 'regions'? Now, to be fair, the nature of magically figuring out which window should be what size is going to make messes, and I understand that. I'm not expecting perfection, and I'm not expecting mind reading. However, a known window size for a command prompt seems a good place to start; frequency of the use of a window being proportional to a window's size being another, with the existence of a horizontal scroll bar as a result of a potential move being still another. Mosaico has potential, but its current iteration is more sizzle than steak. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

It would be a lot better if you were able to run Mosaico without having to run Steam. If you had that option I would definitely recommend. Great for productivity, works with multiple monitors, saves your window size "snapshots" and you are able to load them and open the programs that were saved in the snapshot instantly. Like I said, if you could run w/ out Steam (like with a key code) I would recommend it because of how useful it is.

I really wanted a tiling manager like this, but if you want to buy it, don't get it on Steam. It will always display that you're using this application to your friends, and it requires Steam to be running.

I use 4x2k monitors at home in various configurations and 5x1080 monitors at work and this software is absolutely perfect for this. I routinely run instant messages, browsers, visual studio, VMs and various shell terminals at any given time to jump around in work and development and find that Mosaico really takes the cake with window management. There is definitely a learning curve to the software and has a ton of configurability, but after the initial hump this software immensely speeds up my work space. Got a chat window for work? SNAP - in its rightful place off to the side. Got Reddit up for... productivity reasons? SNAP - Its on the left half of my front monitor. Found a blog detailing intricacies of threading SSH reboot commands? SNAP - bottom half of my portrait monitor. Even though this software is simple and easy to install/configure, when you do need to ask their support for any questions they are on the ball and truly knowledgeable about the request at hand; truly top tier customer service.

Oh dear god... this new update actually made it even worse. Thank you uakiki for responding. Unfortunately, these updates have done nothing to improve the experience. If there's one program I expect Mosaico to be able to handle, it's Steam - you know, the platform you're selling your product on. Yet Mosaico can't keep track of the different windows Steam creates. A chat window takes the place of the main window, the main window gets compressed into my friends list, etc. I actually switched to a different music player, because Mosaico breaks Winamp terribly. But Aimp doesn't even get launched or move by Mosaico, so I have to reposition it manually. Which is the entire point of spending $20 on a tool whose sole purpose is to move windows around. And while this isn't Mosico's fault, any application you keep open shows up to your friends as you constantly being in it. For something like Mosaico where I just keep it open, and press enter on occasion to straighten my windows, my friends can never see what game I'm playing. Because of this, I now avoid buying applications on Steam.
