Possibly the goofiest game I've ever played. I'm only 43 minutes in and I'm in love. Bad food puns are EVERYWHERE. The weapons, the enemies, you cannot step one foot without feeling like you're in dad joke paradise. The music hits hard, and the game feels fun run after run! Honestly, Let Him Cook. Cooked. So hard.

As the other comments suggest, it's kind of a mix between Vampire Survivors and Brotato, and it's definitely much better than those two games. It is, in its genre, simply perfect, but everything is secondary next to THE MUSIC. Oh my God, the music in this game elevates the whole experience to truly unexpected levels for a title of this kind. If any of the above references catch your attention in the slightest, please give this game a chance.

As of this day (July 17), I've bought the game by recommendation of youtube rogue-like and roguelite streamers as they made comparisons with Brotato and bullet-hell games like Enter the Gungeon and putting the game potencial upwards.. Despite the fact that I've really liked the game, there *is* some things that bothers me with the game. The graphics are okay, up to the point where I even think that if it was made simpler it would be nicer. Keep in mind that despite the game looking closer to Brotato, it is kinda of a mixed bag with a solid but different game style. Pros: Gameplay is well thought. Bosses are well balanced. The SFX are good. Most mechanics are rather nice and well thought. Basics are well done. Settings are almost good enough for a solid experience. But, as today, this is an early access, a BETA, so let me explain the cons of this game in a deeper analysis (and feedback). While the gameplay is well thought, game is right now a bit unbalanced. Some things like the dash is really important and in higher difficulties you have to focus a lot on it to even be able to stay alive in some maps. Damage is rather hard because there is some high tier weapons that deals less damage than some low tier ones *even if it isn't the proper tool* (revolver I'm looking at you). At the same time, there should be at least a few variations of 3 types of weapon for each food: long range, mid range and close range, one of each accessible from the start maybe? At the same time, level up gives fewer options than Brotato, which may seem a bit impractical for a roguelike, but I think that the level ups are a bit underbalanced considering leveling up is harder on it than Brotato (until level 10 at least). To this point, an UI slider or a better UI should be really good. IA is balanced, but projectiles are not so good to be seen in screen even with settings to make it appear more shown. Speaking of UI, it's bad. Like, this is an indie game and the dev(s) are crunching, you know this is probably a personal project so of course it's NOT required but damn, its massive buttons makes the screen almost feeling like you're squeezing 10 friends in a cab. However, it's simple enough so you know how to use it. I mean, I need to repeat: this is an early access build, the game is in beta, so keep that in mind because the game reflects this stage of development. Which makes me get to the point that it's bad. Like really bad, trust me. The map. Well, you don't have any sense of depth or placement. The background mix with the stage and the scenario may be confusing and messy. Sure, it's nice for the dj to put you in the dark where you're slower ('cause you're not seeing a thing), but damn, I really DO think that Brotato made a great decision not investing so much details in this aspect, specially since Let Him Cook is kind of a bullet hell, so it's gets hard, specially for someone with perception issues. Also, the game misses to alert players of lots of lights and risks of seizure AND settings that may include people with epilepsy but people with color blindness as well (some settings already DO help, but I think it can be better) - and support of controls are kinda weird. In all fairness, this is a promise. I've thought about making a refund, but I think I'll keep it for the future, since it has lots of potencial. What's in my mind right now is just that it is missing several things that makes me wonder if it'll happen or not, like an steam workshop to accommodate mods and other features like a more customizable settings gamemode, etc. What helps is that the community around the game is awesome and the discord is active into the development of the game, including awesome suggestions. I hope this game grows and of course I'll be playing. See ya.

Wow! What a fun game! The action and nail-biting was a GRILLING combo! Losing to the Couch Potato made me feel like a real spud, but I know that when I give it another shot, that I'll have a ceREAL chance at beating it!

Highly recommended! As a fan of both roguelikes and quirky humor Let Him Cook has been an absolute blast to play. One of the best features is the ability to hire assists with different abilities and quirks. Good variety of different builds to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting.

Charming and fun with some cool different takes on the gameplay. Still has some performance and graphical issues, but the dev is working on them.

This game is honestly just a lot of fun. I'm usually not much of a fan when it comes to this genre of games, but this one's got me hooked. The game is fast-paced, exciting, and offers a huge selection of characters, weapons, passives, and assistants. The enemies aren't just mindless swarms either, they actually all have their own gimmick that makes them stand out. Despite only fighting the
Couch Potato
boss at the time of this review, it was a challenging fight and felt very rewarding once I defeated him
and his accomplice
. I'm looking forward to trying all sorts of builds and giving myself different challenges as I continue to play. Overall, the game is great, and I'd easily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun game with infinite replayability.

She kept seasoning my meat while I was cooking her veg. So she let me squeeze her fruit when I was serving my dairy.
