I enjoyed the lore/story with this game, but that's where the positives end. It loses tension pretty quickly, and becomes an insanely basic survival horror game. I also found the gameplay more annoying than fun at many points Seems like a ripoff for 15 bucks

I just finished my recording and my playthrough of the game which can be found on YouTube later this week under the same name as my profile. https://youtu.be/mhX-eOf5tHY I don't even know where to start with this game it was absolutely amazing the sound and music production was out of this world and I felt like there was never a dull moment needless to say I've never played a lot of horror games but recently starting up YouTube I've decided to pick them up more due to trying to expand out and I have to say that this game single handedly made me scream and panic the most in the best way possible. The way the story is crafted and put together is absolutely amazing I truly believe this game deserves so much more love and reviews and players than it currently has. I will do my best with my available resources to bring this game to the attention of my community and whatever I can on YouTube to reach people but this game was absolutely amazing the story crafting the audio the tense chase scenes the constant feeling of being panicked was absolutely amazing and I've never played a game like this. You truly have made a short work of art and I am happy that I made the decision to play this game instead of anything larger. I hope to see more content and the development process from the team. This game was truly amazing.
TL;DR

Overall amazing game (5/5 ★★★★★)
I really enjoyed the experience. This is a dev who knows how to build tension and create balanced, well-paced, exciting gameplay. Additionally, if you're looking for a mysterious story of existential dread, this one is a must-play.
No Spoilers Portion

PROS

Great Atmosphere - The atmosphere was AMAZING. And the thing about this is: there are MULTIPLE ATMOSPHERES. Each level presents a new vibe that you have to adjust to. Also the lighting, level design and ambient sound design was peak.
Terrifying Enemy - The enemy in this game is frightening from start to finish. It never gets old. A lot of games you play, you understand the enemy after a few encounters, but this one was unpredictable and always terrifying!
Balanced Gameplay - The enemy AI is very well balanced. It gives you a couple chances to screw up, but it still feels relentless.
Multiple Unique Environments - I already kinda said this, but several exciting environments to explore. Every time I entered a new level I had a "wow" moment.
Cool Transitions - Amazing transitions between levels and cut scenes.
Unique Health System - Really creative health system, nothing crazy complicated, but definitely added to the experience.

SLAUGHTER MODE - Slaughter mode is a hard mode, unlocked after completing the base game. It was a really fun challenge that kept me playing for a few extra hours. Great addition! And still, the monster never became less scary. Still got my heart beating each and every time.

CONS
I want to preface this by saying, the pros heavily outweigh the cons!
Inconsistencies In Visuals - Meshes were a bit inconsistent in their levels of detail (e.g. there would be a super high poly light bulb and then a really low poly wall - things like that), but the textures were pretty consistent in resolution. Obviously this is not a big deal at all. But there is nothing else to nit-pick!

Spoilers Portion

PROS (Spoilers)

Reverse Chase - I love the part when you have to chase the monster. The whole game you are trained to run away from it, so when that is flipped on its head, it is almost scarier. Also the ticking sound effect and the alarm just add to the sense of urgency. It is great!

THE VENT CHAASEEE - HOLY CRAP I loved the vent chase scene. So much tension built with the timed doors. I like this because the whole game before this, I kept thinking to myself "I wish I could get a good look at the enemy, but whenever he is close, I am running from him", and this gave me the perfect opportunity to turn around and watch him crawling towards me while I helplessly waited for the door to open. GENIUS! I only wish it wasn't in the trailer so I didn't know it was coming! Would have hit different.

Subverting Expectations - I also loved the part where you got to play a memory. The subverted expectation when you are waiting for the "I found myself remembering" text to pop up, but instead you get to PLAY IT!! Awesome!

Mini Stories - I loved how there was a mini story to each area, and the subtle connections between them: "There is only one way out". This helped to immerse myself in each level's world.

SLAUGHTER MODE ENDING - That ending to slaughter mode was sick as hell.

CONS (Spoilers)

Monster's Voice - I didn't find the monster's voice particularly scary in my opinion, BUT the rest of the sounds he was making were terrifying.

Story A Little Abstract - Pretty mysterious story. Really cool concept about the universe restarting over and over and over, but I couldn't get a grasp on what the Meat Man represented or what the player character was experiencing during the gameplay. Was it purgatory? Was it hell? I don't know. I could just be dumb as balls and be missing something. Other than these few confusions, the story was pretty cool.

Suggestions

(SPOILER) -
Add ability to skip cut scenes in slaughter mode. I died plenty of times, and having to rewatch every cutscene in addition to replaying every level had me losing immersion since I had seen them so many times.

(SPOILER) -
I think the monster's voice could be improved by having some sort of "surround sound" effect. I don't mean his whistle or his SFX, I mean his voice itself. It also would have been extra scary if it had a reverse reverb effect, and some reverse delay or reverse echo.

I don't really 100% understand the metaphor with the plot. But it was a stealth horror game that didn't make me want to end it all out of frustration, so kudos. Also big respect voicing the villain yourself. Always happy to see an indie dev just voicing it themselves instead of using AI.
