This game's charm lies in its simplicity.

Cozy Fishing hooked me enough that I just had to 100% it (all achievements and at least 1 of each fish!) and it left me hoping for more content (maps, fish, bait, upgrades, character and aquarium customization, all for a higher pricetag of course). I'm very satisfied with this relaxing, yet short little experience for the price I paid. Plus, it features some of my favorite saltwater fish!

Overall this is a solid base of a game for 2 dollars.
MAPS
- There are 4 maps which are cozy in their own way. Two fresh water maps and 2 salt water maps. There is also an aquarium map where there are 4 separate tanks that will hold 1 of each type of fish whenever you catch one.
FISH
- There are 5 fish per map (4 maps) so in total there are 20 fish. In less than an hour of game play, I have caught 18/20. It seems like there is at least 1 fish per map that is a lot more rare than the others and 1 that is slightly more rare.
FISHING GAME PLAY
- The fishing mini game is actually kind of fun and different than other fishing mini games I have tried. It is simple and it goes quick. You get a bite within a second or two of your bobber touching the water and the mini game takes 5 - 10 seconds making it easy to rack up a ton of fish very quickly.
SOUND
- The sound effects are good. The plunking of your bobber and the sound of the ocean waves are satisfying. However, there is no music. While I can easily find something on YouTube to play to this game, I feel like having a solid soundtrack would allow people to spend more time getting lost in fishing. It is probably my largest complaint about this game. It really needs a soundtrack.
THINGS THAT WOULD DRASTICALLY IMPROVE THE GAME
- Other than 1 fish of each type going into the aquarium collection, there is no purpose for any of the fish you catch. You can't sell them or put them in other tanks. They just exist as a stat. It would be nice to either allow different aquarium builds, or let people sell fish for aquarium decorations, which leads me to my next point.
- The aquarium map is super basic and unpleasant to look at. The fish hardly fit into the tanks and the tanks are basic or next to completely empty besides water and fish. There needs to be a way to customize aquariums by adding decorations, adjusting what fish go in, and decorating the map around the tanks as well. Decorations could not only be bought by selling unwanted fish, but it would be nice if they could also be caught as rare catches in the various maps. It would also be nice to be able to choose a tank to display on each map that you actually fish on. There is a lot of empty space on the screen, and while that's part of the aesthetic, I don't see the harm in using a corner for a fish tank to have something pretty to look at while fishing.
Incorporating baits would also help to chase certain types of fish. It doesn't have to be super intricate, but at least 1 or 2 different types of worms or bugs to use per map would be awesome.
ALL IN ALL
A good base of a game for 2 dollars. You won't get lost in it. It goes by quick. However, if they add a few things as mentioned above, it could be something you could chill and zone out for a bit in.
Sadly has not much content

Title: Cozy Fishing
Introduction:
Cozy Fishing is a game about, well, fishing. The fishing mechanic itself is very similar to Stardew Valley, except the bar is shorter and sideways. There are four main fishing maps, plus an aquarium to keep track of each of the 20 different species of fish you have caught.
Graphics and Atmosphere:
The game has a fairly calm atmosphere. There isn't much to see but there are atmospheric sounds. The graphics are good looking and overall the game has very little visual bugs as far as I can tell.
Gameplay and Achievements:
The entire objective of the game is to catch all of the fish. Something that can be done within very little time, even the most casual of game fan can finish this game in one sitting. There are no descriptions to the fish you catch, no additional content other than catching the existing 20 fish species. Some fish do seem rarer than others, I spent half of my short game time just trying to catch the sunfish.
On the other hand, getting all the achievements is fairly easy since they are tied to catching certain fish, which as mentioned takes almost no time at all.
Issues and Challenges:
I only really found one visual issue, that being on the last map, where water seems to go into the boat but that is by no means any sort of game breaking bug.
This game is no challenge at all.
Replayability and Longevity:
There is little to no repeatability. This game is easy to complete and features almost no content.
Conclusion:
If you like repetitive games with little to no substance or are just looking to increase your achievement count, then this game is for you. The atmosphere is not nearly cozy enough to keep me playing, especially because of the lack of any sort of additional features. If you are planning on getting this game, I would suggest getting it on sale, despite the low price tag.
I don't like not recommending games but at the current state I can't give a recommendation without feeling bad about it. If I could give it something in between, I would.
On a different note: the developer(s) seem(s) to be working on their next game and I'm exciting to see what they put out in the future, since this is by no means a bad game.

It's cute and great for just zoning out and 'doing' something but the game needs a tutorial badly, took me a minute to figure out how to fish because it doesn't tell you anywhere. I still don't know how to deposit the fish i catch into my museum. Feels very sparse and bare bones. It also sucks that you can't pick your gender or customize your character at all. So while the game is cute, I def don't recommend it until it makes a few changes. Feels like the devs slapped it together and said 'ok, good enough.'
Stardew Valley fishing mechanic but the bar is as small as the fish symbol itself.
It isn't cozy but boring and dull.
Implement (way) more content/progression and sell it for $10.
The graphic is charming, but In its current state, it's not even worth the 2 bucks.
5 minutes played and everything seen.

A short fishing game. It takes about 15 minutes to catch all the fish in 4 different biomes/areas. The catching is done via a minigame where you have to fill up a green bar by keeping a blue box on a fish that is moving left/right.
It's simple, but it works and is also probably something younger players can handle.
I always miss some informative info/text about the fish you caught (or other animals in different games). For example, why not explain that the Sunfish is one of the biggest fish? Why not explain that the Angler fish creates their own light with an organ?
And so on. I think it would serve some purpose and players might actually learn something from the game.
