From what I've seen so far it has some really interesting environments. Almost everywhere I go, when I expect a dead end I find a way through to another interesting place. You are very free to go what you want so it takes a bit of getting used to if you're used to modern games. It has an Elder Scrolls feel, although the melee combat is less developed so far.
it's definitely worth a look. It's being improved quickly and I think it has a ton of potential.
Diamond in the rough for anyone looking for a medieval fantasy game.
So, I played this game. Looking for a action fantasy style game. It wasn't disappointing. It is in many ways reminiscent of those classic D&D games from the 90s. Is this game going to get best graphics of 2024 by IGN? No, but sometimes graphics don't make a game, its substance. I think this game definitely has substance. The small details, like the font being medieval designs. The names of the characters the fact if you die 5 times, it automatically puts you in super easy, and you got to beat the game to get into hard mode. Honestly, this game made me have so much nostalgia for the games I played as a kid. Having tons of new game plus content, all sorts of new classes you can play as. Reminiscent of Morrowind in upon a new game you can replay and just destroy everybody. It definitely has some of the best replay value I've seen in years. Honestly, as anyone can see I've only had this game for 6 hours, I had to quit playing because I realized I had responsibilities. I thought, I'd leave a review before getting back to my studies. Now, I will say is this a AAA game? No, but it is definitely a diamond in the rough and well worth the asking price.

Nice oldschool roguelite fantasy rpg. Took me 4 hours to beat. Suffers from fps drops in some areas.

I only wish all indie developers offered us gamers this much heart, this much effort and this much passion for such a small asking price!
This game is a labor of love and it certainly shows when you play it. It's got many different classes to play and unlock. A pretty big map to explore and tons of dungeons, caves, and forest paths to explore and conquer!
I absolutely love this little gem of a game, and while it's certainly not the next Skyrim, what it is.. is a helluva fun little RPG action open world gem in the massive rough that is Steam indie games these days.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ..An absolute STEAL for less than an iced coffee will cost you at most places. Fans of RPG games with nice 3D graphics should jump all over this one and then thank me (or thank the developer later! It's a blast!

What has the potential to be a hidden gem is hampered by some rather frustrating glitches. The negative review is due to very fixable issues, not any larger picture problems. But, they're here, so I can't suggest that you suffer the frustration until they're ironed out.
I didn't run into many issues at all, but the ones that I did impacted the game in ways that mattered (such as the controls for potions are listed as X/Z, neither of which allows me to consume the potions in my inventory and thus I die with several healing potions unused with all of the game-play lost OR, if I'm lucky, I can get get them to work on the fifth or sixth attempt at smashing the key. It really depends on the run, but they've never worked first try).
The fact that all base quests must be re-established each incarnation is an annoyance, especially when you're dying due to wonky control response. Same for the tutorial circles; after one run-through, they can go away and stop killing immersion.
Anyway, it's good and looks like it can grow to be great, but not until some further fixes are made. It's still in Early Access, so there is time for updates (and it does seem like that it's an active Dev/Dev Team), but I'd still wait it out to see how the remaining issues are addressed.

Haven't played much, but a fun romp with good combat. Also, big fan of the lighting - only knew a skele was behind me from his shadow... damn lights saved my life.

Edited: Changed from not recommended to recommended. Removed issues that have been resolved.
The game gives off the old-school feel and visuals of hack and slash games. The game has improved the visuals and lighting since my first review, and it seems to be getting better over time.
The sound design/balance is not great. Very overpowering music, very cookie-cutter effects. The sound effects for picking up souls and certain enemies getting hit are very loud compared to the rest.
The initial game play was rough, but a couple of updates to the enemies and crosshair have smoothed it out a bit. Enemies still have iffy synced animation, but the combat pacing is better. It also has bugs, one of which allow enemies to walk onto high areas that may take a player several jumps to get to (if possible), and stop you from progressing kill quests, or at least make the area harder. This happened the first time I tried to kill the necromancer at the church in the first area. He walked backwards into a rock and appeared on top of it.
Another bug I have found is getting stuck on the geometry of pots and skeleton parts. It can get you stuck during combat.
Overall it has improved, and I will continue to revisit it.

If you're into more trad roguelikes, and have a hankering for some unguided exploration, this game is for you. Combat is slightly jank, but there is more depth to the world than I expected.
