Here's the deal. This game is definitely for more casual players in its current state. There are only 2 weapons, 4 characters, and the skill tree is limited. I've got about 3 hours in and I'm maybe halfway done. I am the casual gamer mentioned at the start.
Folks don't seem to like the sentinel quests as a mechanism to get upgrades, but I love it. Folks say it's repetitive, but these games often are. At least in my opinion.
Played it on my Steam Deck and had minimal issues. The menus are a little weird with the stick, but that's all I've noticed. Actual gameplay is fine.
With it's current amount of content, I would say wait for a sale. I really hope they add more to it, though, because I'll be sad when I've unlocked everything and don't have more to work toward. I'm not going to start a new save to replay. If you're picky or serious about games, you might think it's too simplistic. But if you're easily intimidated or more casual, it's worth trying out.
