On paper Nebraska is the kind of place people joke about driving through as fast as possible, but the team leans into the subtle stuff: the way the light hits the Sandhills, grain elevators breaking up the horizon, the rail lines running alongside you, and yeah, those crop dusters banking over the fields. It's all small touches that most studios wouldn't bother animating, but together they make the miles feel intentional rather than like filler between cities. What gets me is that this is the kind of detail work that only pays off if you actually enjoy the act of driving, which is the whole point of the game. They're not adding it to sell you anything, they're adding it because someone on the team cares. And the continued support really is the unsung part of it. SCS has this habit of going back and reworking older states that shipped years ago to bring them up to the standard of the newer releases, which is almost unheard of. You buy a map expansion and it quietly gets better over time instead of being abandoned.
