played a good few hours offline so hours aren't entirely accurate, also this is one of my first time reviewing a game.
This game is good, it feels like a mix of Into the Radius and Convrgence, the graphics aren't the best at times but the gameplay carries, the overall game can be a little janky but for an indie dev game its very polished, this has become one of my favourite VR games so far.

If you're looking for a pretty solid S.T.A.L.K.E.R game, this will scratch that itch pretty well! It may not be the greatest of stories (bit rough on voice acting and writing) but for being essentially a one man dev team, it's a truly good game for anyone that's a fan of the genre/style. This game, despite being called 'Origin', is actually a sequel to Project X. Project X is a bit rougher around the edges (no crouch button) and more linear to an extent, but is also worth checking out!
The gameplay isn't insane, but holds up really well, the tossing away of everything having a popup screen for a more limited approach to what gives details is a nice touch, as well. There have been some interesting QoL and even an ammo rework just shortly after full release, the dev has been very active and communicates as they are able with players. It very much plays mostly like what you already know from these types of games.
Raid locations are red on your map in your safehouse and can be repeated to various degree. Time of day changes each time, for some areas, which will affect mobs, loot and anomalies. Some maps are always 1 time of day all the time, but also aren't repeatable for resources, as far as I can tell.
Oh and if you like to collect artifacts, from what I've noticed (especially when going through the Landfill map) some unique ones only seem to spawn once. Haven't finished the game, so unsure if they are spawnable in certain raid locations or if they are meant to be one of a kind.
Honestly, my one gripe would be how the leaderboard seems to get cheated pretty quick. It'll get reset and then in minutes, someone is in the upwards of 100k+ to hit the top of the board. That and not spawning inside your base whenever you go back to the main camp.
All in all, would recommend to anyone that's played ITR1&2 and/or ConVRgence as well as S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro. It's a solid enough solo experience. You might even find a couple neat easter eggs for some of the titles mentioned.

Edit( I have gone through and added some edits to this review next to the problems I was having that seem to be fixed rather simply. The reason I did not delete these complaints and simply added the edits was so that if anyone else had similar problems they could hopefully get some help from this. Thanks to the dev and the quick response time they have I was able to make the game much more enjoyable).
This game is worth the money being asked I think. It has the stalker look and feel down better then into the radius in my correct opinion. The only thing it lacks is the open world. so far I have only been to a couple location but they all seem to be similar in size which are just big enough for a quick play session. the lighting is creepy and even tho I have yet to run into a enemy indoors the atmosphere keeps me on my toes. now onto the things that are not so great but can be fixed.
The games graphics while very stalker are rather fuzzy no matter the settings.
Edit(The trick to fix this is to not use the anti aliasing keep it turned off and use the resolution slider and set it to max 150% game looks a lot better and basically fixes this issue).
optimization is lacking I have a 3900xt and a 3070ti with 32gbs ddr4 3200mhz and the game lags and stutters on medium settings. with games that look way better running a lot better on less hardware this is a problem that needs to be worked on. Keep in mind the dev team is small and by that i mean I believe I read it was one person making this. With that in mind they have done a great job so far.
Edit(This is a strange one but thanks to helpful tips from the dev I was able to fix the lag and stutter and can even run the game on max settings with little issue the trick was to apparently lock my refresh rate to 72hz)
The game has no visual indicator that you have taken damage the moment it happens. I will walk around for 20-30 mins and look at my pda and boom I am some how missing 30 points of hp. Kind of a problem.
collision problems with hands. My hands tend to get stuck on every thing I can grab if I do it slightly wrong. I try and transfer my gun from one hand to the other and now my free hand is stuck in the middle of my gun. I try and open a cabinet and now my hand is stuck in the door. This does not happen every time but it happens a enough for it to be problem.
Edit(This to seems to have been fixed by simply locking my refresh rate to 72hz)
In closing the game is fun and decently scratches that stalker itch. I would say if you are a fan of stalker or into the radius grab this game. I hope the dev keeps working on this and can't wait to see what they bring us in the future.

A solid game made by a single developer, worth the asking price for anyone looking for a Stalker-like experience in VR.
The good:
• A wide array of classic weapons with interchangeable attachments.
• Lots of maps to explore with satisfying looting/scavenging.
• Tension and fear at every dark corner.
• A good sense of progression, of increasing power as you grow your arsenal and your artifact collection.
As a bonus, it was made by someone who is clearly very hardworking, has been responsive to the community, and delivered frequent updates during EA. Support indie devs!
The only real caveat is a broad one: being made by a solo developer, you should expect a little jank and a lack of polish. For instance: NPC dialogue is stiff, the story is mere background and underdeveloped, and the interiors lack detail. But if you're looking for the thrill of exploring the true Stalker world in VR—the grim scavenging and sudden, heart-pounding combat and sense of mysterious danger everywhere—ZONA Origin will help you scratch that itch. I got more than my money's worth on this one already.

This is as close to Stalker as you can get in VR. The first entry, Project X, was more of a linear Stalker experience. This is a real deal with tons of content and playtime exceeding original Stalker game. Also I believe this is one dev project which is incredible for the amount of content. Also the dev is quick to respond and fixes issues very quickly as well. It definitely has quite a bit of jank and might not be as polished as something like ITR series. It is expected from a one dev project, though. Would highly recommend for anyone who is even remotely interested in Stalker-like experience or for anyone who is a fan of post-apoc survival genre.

This is an improvement in almost every aspect compared to the first game. Even though many mechanics are handled better now, it’s still a very basic, cheaply made (which I don’t mind) and poorly thought-out (which is a real shame) STALKER clone.
The AKS-74U in this game deals more damage than the AK-74...
It feels like ZONA Project X 1.1, and I can’t understand why anyone would charge money for both of these games at the same time. I also can’t recommend buying the next game from this developer - it’ll probably just be the same ZONA Project X with a few extra fixes.

If you like the stalker series, ITR or creepy horror shooters you'll probably like this.
The game has nice graphics for VR, and lots of different locations and enemies. There is plenty of loot to scrounge and hidden things to find. Look everywhere.

I am disabled, therefore I spend a LOT of time in VR. Zona Origin immerses me like no other VR title- including Half Life Alyx and Fallout 4 VR. I truly look forward to putting on my headset and stepping into Zona, moreso than any other game I have played (and I have played most if not all the good ones).
I highly recommend picking this one up!

The enemies feel boring and very repetitive and their animations leave much to be desired, the story is not really very interesting, the guns are kinda weird to shoot, the maps feel incomplete and lack interactable objects, the graphics are not very pleasent to the eye and overall it just felt like a looting cans simulator with some shooting here and there
But I like that there is a cooking mechanic, also the spray painting could be better with some other tools like brushes and thinner sprays but its alr as for now
It´s also very frustrating to drop your gun by accident and spending 15 minutes looking for it on the grass, the game could use some sort of marker above certain items when dropped, having a marker above your guns or mags whenever dropped wouldve been magnificient, also having some sort of way of knowing when you actually have your main weap on your shoulder and didnt drop it by accident

The Ukrainian Dev you should be supporting. Managed to make a STALKER game solo that is complete with loads of content, with a lot less bugs than that other game on launch. Fun gunplay/looting and some great VR mechanic implementations.
Worth the $20 easy!
