This is one of my favorites of the series because of the features it has. The mechanics of the 90 puzzle-M3 levels have been smoothed out compared to the earlier games and don't require as much of a luck factor to solve. The vast majority of gadgets seen in later installments of Laruaville are here, and the levels play rapidly if you know what you're doing. The town scene has many interactive elements and you're tasked periodically to do sequences of actions in the town for extra coins. There is also an extra set of 40 bonus levels, optional to play, but something you usually don't see in a standard version game. Relaxed, timed, and limited moves modes. The story appears to pick up from Laruaville 5, as the ghosts have landed on an island after sailing away from their last haunts and are now seeking hidden pirate treasure...makes me wonder why the pirate ghost from Laruaville 5 decided to stay behind. Instead of using the coins obtained from playing the levels to build the town scene, this time the ghosts are collecting coins from the town as new buildings and extra islands appear. There's a "notebook" feature in the town scene; every so often a "sequence" appears in the notebook where you must click on certain things in the town in order to win extra coins. The developer has told me elsewhere that there are secret sequences not in the notebook which will give you coins too, but I've never been able to hit upon any of them, as the odds of randomly doing 4-5 different actions in just the right order would be rather slim. However, I've discovered you can get secret extra coins by
clicking in the middle of the cluster of 350 coins as soon as a notebook sequence completes for 50 extra coins
. Whether that's a bug or intentional, don't know. The bonus sparkles are present, but don't appear very often. There are not a lot of minigames, just spot the difference scenes which appear about every 5-6 levels, which is pretty rare for any of this developer's games. While I really enjoyed the bonus levels, they won't be everyone's cup of tea because of how challenging they are. Several of them can be rendered impossible to complete if you do things in incorrect order; others are just really tough in either limited moves or timed mode because the moves counter or timer is set extra tight. Overall, they rival some of the toughest levels in the Cursed House series, and would probably have been better in retrospect to put them into a Cursed House game instead, because Laruaville has otherwise typically been billed as the "easiest" of the 3 game series LGT SIA makes. It's unfortunate that the things which make Laruaville 6 unique didn't last for long, but on the other hand, having them for only a game or 2 is what makes this game great. Much recommended, especially if you want some extra challenge.
