Hello all and shout out to the Dev's. This is a really good game and where you been all my life. Dragonero has everything you can imagine for a Party based turned based strategy game. Graphics are astonishing. The story is intriguing. the length is adjustable. You can go straight for the finish or grind for a lot xtra which I like the most. The character customization opens up as you level up. You have shops o buy gear and can craft gear as well as alchemical and medical needs. This is a well thought out game. One example I picked up was ok you know how you have your companions and you. You have EXP when you start. Well at start you usually are same level and later on if you pick up a character their level will reflect yours. Well I got three characters I am using and from the start they have different levels. One is an old magician and his level double and almost triple more than my other members. There is a lot more subtle things as well. But if you like this genre of games, don't miss out on this under the radar hidden gem.

*Early Release disclaimer* The artwork is amazing. Truly fantastic. The English grammar errors, missing words, changing fonts and other 'bugs' lost me. I know it is in development...but please have some beta checkers help you with some of these issues.

This game is good, but rough around the edges. The combat is classic turn-based stuff and the animations/sound effects in battle aren't anything special but they are serviceable. Skills provide all the information you need to make informed decisions, but the information isn't explained well. I think one of the main flaws of this game is that it has a lot of systems and stats going on, but they are only explained through either a pop-up tooltip or through going into the encyclopedia and viewing the game mechanics explanations. This can get to be a lot to read but since dying leads to a gameover it is better to do that than to just experiment in combat. It also isn't very clear when an enemy is immune to a status effect which can be annoying. It would also be nice to be able to adjust the size and color of the font in game because many people find it hard to read. I haven't had that issue personally, but I have seen it as a frequent complaint. I do enjoy the exploration element of the game, but I wish it wasn't always so clunky. You can only ever move one square at a time whether you are on the overworld map or in a dungeon. On the overworld you expend energy everytime you move and once you move 8 times you become hungry and need to eat. You are supposed to be able to just press tab and it will feed you using food from your pack. But it seems like it only feeds the first person in the party and you have to go into your inventory to feed the other two party members you start with. In dungeons, you can also only move one square at a time, but you have to confirm it each time because there can be hidden traps etc. This is even more tedious. For all the flaws the game has, I do really enjoy it and hope the devs can use community feedback to fix issues like what I have mentioned. That is why I am going to recommend the game. I have played for 9 hours so far, and I'm excited to go back which I think says a lot given the game's flaws.

As a big indie rpg fan, this is not for me. It has a unique gamestyle, but combat is not fun, exploration is not fun, Character selection / creation is not fun (You can choose a level 50 character, a level 3 character, etc, at the start. With no obvious reason why) I only fought a few fights, the combat flow was not fun. And I got to the first town and that wasnt fun. This game plays like a board game. Not a computer game.

This review is difficult to write. The game has a lot of heart, and could be absolutely amazing, but right now it's a visual nightmare. I don't want to give it a thumbs down, but I *have* to because the text/UI/colors etc are really so bad it's literally unplayable for me. Too much important text is simply too small or too similar to the background to read. I don't know how this got so far in development without someone pointing out that the text/UI are an absolute optical migraine... but here's your reality check, dev(s). I think I'd actually like the game if I could actually read everything. At any rate, I couldn't play long due to the visual issues, but it seems to be a storybook style old school fantasy adventure type RPG. Kind of gives me Betrayal at Krondor vibes in many ways. Pros: - Great old-school fantasy vibe - Very good music - Animated graphic novel parts are actually pretty cool overall. Refreshingly unique way to do cutscenes - I love the map travelling section (besides the miniscule text and haphazard UI). It's so well done from the icons to the moving "clock" at the top of the screen Cons: - No text/UI scaling and literally some of the smallest text I've ever seen in some places. Other places, it's dark purple on black background (can't read at all). Many other places it's literally brown on brown (kinda hard on the eyes). The fonts are all over the place and some are difficult to read if they're even big enough. I'm just shocked at how haphazard and... how *bad* the choices are here, tbh - UI doesn't feel well designed or consistent. Just stuff thrown wherever - Enemies in combat are all brown against a matching brown background. I'm speechless - Combat is pretty bad right now. Sound effects are just a flimsy barely audible "clink" when enemies hit each other. There's not much in the way of actual animation when attacks occur. There's no "weight" behind attacks on either side. (Devs, check out Lands of Sorcery for some ideas on how to make the combat have more weight while staying low budget. It's one thing that game actually did well) - No voice acting. Usually wouldn't be an issue for me except the animated parts just *scream* for some VA. They feel so hollow without it. Even an AI voice would be better than nothing If the game's text/UI is redone, I'd consider trying again, but it's going to take quite an overhaul. Edit: checked back 3.5 months later, and I don't see any improvements to the font even though the dev response on forums specifically said they were going to. Yikes. Just... yikes.
