I don't write a lot of reviews but had to take the time to write one for this game. I have a few hours in and I am enjoying it so far. Despite the other negative reviews I took a chance without playing the demo. This fits a nice spot for me that has been missing. Running on an old 1080 and so far no issues with performance or crashes though it does have a pretty high usage of the GPU.
The game so far has not had many QOL issues for me, I like business games that don't hold your hand but also don't end up being an idle clicker. I think the only major QOL issue that bugs me is all the volumes are in X over Y days, and so I have to have my calculator out to figure out what that means on a daily basis, feels silly to do and I wish everything was just in a daily rate.
I have not progressed far but I like how different regions have different production chains, nice way to pace it out and each production chain has some uniqueness that makes it fun. Also one of my biggest gripes with games like Capitalism (whatever the latest version is) is that so far in this game it does not appear natural resources have maximum extraction quantities. Obviously they do in real life but I find that mechanic in a game boring and creates what feels like I am playing a RTS and trying to just build as quick as possible.

OLD REVIEW: I recommend it if you like the gameplay, but I cannot recommend it because of the fact that it keeps crashing. I will try to play again in a few months.

It could have been great however they really just decided to cut out some of my favorite aspects.
1. No competitors on the map, not even a single one, sure the biggest difficulty of the first game wasnt the ai rather the expenses but having actual competition on the map would make such a big difference.
2. Towns are just there? no interactions seemingly besides housing for workers, I really like the idea of labour and such being a restriction but making it so that the towns cant be sold stuff to or anything is kinda sad...
3. altho I like the vibes of the 80s UI and HUD it kinda just feels off, well done but I think thats the problem...
Altho I'd love to like this, after all it's the follow up to one of my all time favorite games I just cant overlook how wrong playing it feels at least after experiencing the first game
