Super fun title. Perfect for people who prefer quick intense gameplay instead of playing long and boring Total War campaigns.

While this is a certainly fun game and there are systems in place that show a higher level of gameplay both now and in future development, I can't quite shake the feeling that this isn't worth the $20 pricetag. I would recommend you buy this only during a sale, or wait a bit longer if development on the game is continued.

Only a few minutes in, pretty delightful. Definitely a Total War + Paradox game but the learning curve is very easy. It's intuitive and there's a helpful instruction book that you can have pop up if you like. The battles are quick and dirty and kind of fun. Despite this being a lot faster than a Total War + Paradox game, it's really easy to feel invested and connected to your game. The world map is turn based, the battles are live action. There is a quick battle mode, which is good for learning how to play the game as a tutorial, but they are stock situations and if I had any wish list for the game that doesn't exist now is a custom quick battle.

What a great game it is! Like modern version of Centurion but a lot harder, must play! And Great Developer too.

Solid, simple enough strategy game. Scratches the grand strategy itch without having to get too in depth with a bunch of different mechanics. What the game does have it does really well. Would definitely suggest it.

+ Reduced install space on hard dive + Fast load time after launching + Can resize window's edges after selecting windowed display mode + Combining all the maps : a great amount of factions and starting locations + Faction configuration options + Turn-based : no RTS pressure / battles can be auto-resolved + Tactical-battle scenarios that are easy to play, but difficult to master + Saving and loading games are fast & easy, with each file informatively described + And there is a per-turn auto-save + Visual appearance is very good for a small-file, low-RAM-usage game + Realm management offers many options for recruitment, building, research, advisers, events, etc. + Realm resource-management requires careful choices + Regularly, there are quests and special events that pop-up, prompting choices + Not a game that absurdly hogs a computer's CPU & RAM resources + If you activate, in options, watching computer-player moves, you might notice that the CPs -- even on the easiest difficulty level -- are : competitively aggressive against each other + lose battles against neutral regions -- which indicates that they do not cheat in those types of circumstances. Have not played enough hours yet to fully evaluate the computer players' skill & cheating, but there are positive signs of competitiveness & fairness (read above). It is a simplified equivalent to games like Knights of Honor II -- which can be perceived as good (my case) or bad - Cannot delete a save-game file from the menu : must overwrite an existing file - Save-game files are not easy to find on the HDD in order to manually delete them - Several regional names make no historical sense - Several regions start with absurd types of buildings & units -- historically incorrect - No religious buildings offered to be built -- historically inadequate - Flags for the 2 Islamic factions are empty : add at least crescent moons! - Zero female character-portrait offered during game setup - Some missions, offered by the nobles, are either impossible to succeed in the allotted time, or with far too costly consequences (such as war with a powerful neighbor) to be worth the effort - A few countries -- such as Wales & Bohemia -- start with only 1 region : without a special military bonus, they are too vulnerable (on defense) and too impotent (for attacks)

A great strategy game overall, with solid mechanics and engaging gameplay. I've really enjoyed the experience so far and would definitely recommend it to fans of the genre. That said, I do have some feedback that I think could improve the game: Hotkeys/Shortcuts: The game would benefit a lot from having keyboard shortcuts for key functions. It would speed up gameplay and improve the user experience, especially during long sessions. War Declarations: It feels unfair that AI-controlled neighbors or even allies can attack you without any warning. There should be at least one turn between a war declaration and the actual attack, giving the player some time to react or prepare defenses. Diplomacy System: The diplomacy mechanics need more depth. Right now, having allies doesn’t provide much benefit, as they can still act unpredictably or even backstab you with no consequences. Marriage/Inheritance Mechanic: I married into an allied kingdom and suddenly inherited all their provinces, which had no buildings and a massive army I couldn’t support. This tanked my economy (gold and food went deeply negative), and I had to spend 20 turns just to make those provinces barely useful. I also had to disband a large number of units, which made me lose half my territory in just a few turns. Instead of helping, this mechanic ended up being a major setback. Despite these issues, the core gameplay is enjoyable and shows a lot of promise. With a few updates and improvements, this could become one of the best strategy games out there.

This game is a real treat for fans of classic strategy titles. With solid mechanics and engaging gameplay, it immediately brought back memories of the golden era of strategy games like Defender of the Crown and others from the '90s/'00s. It’s quick to learn, making it easy to jump in — yet it still offers enough depth to keep things interesting. This makes it perfect for players who love strategy but don’t have the time or patience for overly complex systems that often lose sight of the fun. That said, there are still a number of areas that could use some polish, but none of them take away from the enjoyment. The core of the game is solid, and with continued development, it can only get better. The bottom line: it's a nice, engaging, and genuinely fun experience. If you enjoy the genre, you'll feel right at home here. Highly recommended for strategy lovers looking for a game that's both accessible and rewarding.

I really, REALLY wanted to like this game, but the fact that 5 remaining cavalry individuals can ROFLSTOMP 3 full strength archer groups even when trying to maneuver them to fire positions, thus losing a battle is pretty shitty balancing.
