As a long fan of the Dead Rising series and starting the game back on DR1 in the 360 era in 06. I can say this is a great game, that looks beautiful; even better looking than DR3!.
Changes I noticed were the characters looked obviously as well as the map, which are nice. Theres locker in the safe room that lets you pick outfits from all over the mall you've discovered like DR2-3+. It also seemed easier for me to level up despite being in Normal 72 hour mode?
In total it only took me about 5 hours to beat the game in 72 hour mode, and one hour to beat overtime. Although, I was trying to save all the survivors and beat the psychopaths on top of that while achievement hunting. The game can actually be beaten quicker now with the new addition to the watch fast advance system at save zones (Bench/Bathroom). So I would be curious to see how fast this game can be beaten in a world record setting.
Anyways, this game is still as legendary as ever. I would totally buy this game for its replay value, nostalgia, and even for the average zombie fan.

Frank looks like a wax museum version of himself—but hotter—and the zombies explode like piñatas filled with regret. I turned a food processor into a war crime, took selfies in a thong, and somehow called it journalism. GOTY every year until the sun dies

Loved Dead rising since it originally came out. Great remake! It was much more difficult than I remember which was great to play as an adult.

I like the game, but a bug has appeared and I can no longer throw off zombies when attacked. This makes the game unplayable.

As someone whom 100% completed the original game on Xbox 360 and now the remastered I can firmly say, if you like Dead Rising then you'll like this game. If you want to play dead rising and never have before then you may want to try the original as it is cheaper. There is very little difference between the two games. Fans of the series will tell you that the Remastered is easier (more exp and books), the A.I. are much smarter, and they poorly censored some material in this remastered. Other than the optional control changes, casual mode, and the HD touches...there is really different.
In short, IF you are a Dead rising fan I'd wait for a sale. If you've never touched the game before, try the original since its on sale for cheap almost every month.

Keeps locking up, keeps crashing to desktop and then the crash reporter locks up. I love the game, but I can't play the damn thing with any reliability.

Game runs well and is of course a visual improvement over the original Dead Rising game. The quality of life updates like the auto save is nice since the original save mechanic is outdated and annoying. I do wish the original voices were there, but that's more nitpicky than anything. I do hope we get a remaster for Dead Rising 2 at some point at the bare minimum.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a decent "remake" of the original game. The game is now fine tuned for people who've never played the classic and as a result - the game experience is better enjoyed by casual players more than ever. The game has gotten some rather good quality of life changes and some rather interesting changes (won't discuss these in the review - can only say that some of the changes made to the game as a whole were rather strange and frankly unnecessary). The game is unfortunately "abandoned" in terms of content and performance updates (hasn't been updated for sometime now) and the lack of any announcement (at the time of this review) for Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster is somewhat telling that we're likely not going to see another entry in the series again. I'd recommend picking up DRDR only when on sale as it is not worth buying this title at full price.

Fuck this game. An easier and much worse version of the original that completely kills the atmosphere in certain areas for like quintuple the price. Not worth it at all, and they haven't made any strides to change/patch the game to address difficulty and performance issues + bugs.
