Great remasters of (mostly) mediocre games.
Sadly, I think only Tomb Raider 4 is worth playing. It's very reminscent of the first game, but with more complicated level design. I really enjoyed the interconnected levels and the click and point style puzzles where you had to combine stuff in the inventory. Although the latter half of the game, specifically Cairo, is noticeably weaker with some really unclear ways to progress. But thankfully, Giza levels returned to the quality of Karnak/Alexandria levels. Overall, I really liked, it was much more fun and fair than the sadistic third game, or the too shooutout focused second game, although I don't think I would've enjoyed it that much if it wasn't for the interaction pop-up icon that remaster added. Lara opening doors by herself? Or those hatches on the ceiling? I would've never realized on my own that she can do that stuff now, which is mostly the fault of the horrible tutorial level, which is one singular linear level now, instead of the free roam style Croft manor.
Chronicles is is literally just forgettable set of short, simplistic levels. There wasn't even any exploration, because every level is basically a bunch of corridors connecting to single-room puzzles. Really disappointed. There were few good ideas here and there but overall you could tell they were truly tired of pushing out a game after a game every year. It's also like really really short, and bloated by the overabundance of irrelevant/unfunny cutscenes.
Angel of Darkness is... well, Angel of Darkness. Didn't even finish it yet so I won't say much about it, but I'm starting to think I'm not gonna finish it. Not even the supposedly modern controls help, as Lara controls in some weird hybrid of TR:Legend and Classic TR controls. It's not very comfortable to play.
When it comes to remaster itself it is very high quality, TR4 and Chronicles look fantastic, there's far more 3d models placed around, and less obvious AI upscaled textures. Even the blocky environments got more detailed geometry so they appear more natural. Surprisingly, the tank controls got some new moves, like being able to hang from ledge grab simply by walking up to the ledge and pressing action.
The remaster of AoD is not as great though, bunch of characters (not even all of them!) got new models and the textures are higher res, other than that it's basically hard to spot any visual improvements.
Overall, I recommend it only if you want more Tomb Raider after playing the 1-3 remasters.

Last Revelation was decent, Chronicles was good, and Angel of Darkness was bad.

I love this remaster! Things I like: more capabilities for Laura (like being the shimmy around corners), moves more fluidly, and the story is great. Not sure if I have any dislikes. I will say that the puzzles are easier than the previous games, so it wasn't as challenging for me. Performing tasks/solving puzzles, though, you'll definitely have to work at it.

I enjoyed IV and V but because the controls are so bad I can not play Angel of darkness I am very disappointed.

I would say I'm highly impressed by this. I was already hoping for this after I-III remastered came out and they did a great job here. Quick Save/Load is a great addition. These games also don't have the problem where you have to line up jumps perfectly that required switching between tank and modern controls in the I-III remaster. I'm not sure if that's just how these games originally were or if they adjusted Lara's jumping for the remaster to account for this. I hope they go back and patch the I-III remasters to add some of the QoL features found in this game.
As for the games. Last Revelation was worse than I remember, but still great. Chronicles was better than I remember, and I was quite surprised by that since I don't really have any memories of it from when I first played it. Angel of Darkness was basically the same, it's starts out feeling horrible especially if you play it right after Last Revelation and Chronicles, but it grows on you as you go along. Honestly I didn't even expect to ever get Angel of Darkness remastered so it's very nice to have.
Ultimately if you liked I-III remastered you'll like this. It has many improvements that I really hope get brought back to the other games, especially the Quick Save.

I don’t really understand why everyone is complaining about AOD, saying that they didn’t change much in the remaster or that it’s buggy. At the beginning, I just increased the mouse sensitivity a bit, and after that everything worked perfectly with modern controls. Bugs were extremely rare and insignificant, they didn’t negatively impact my experience at all. Honestly, I binge-played the whole thing, I just couldn’t stop until the end.
✅ Pros
• Great story, especially the intense connection between Kurtis and Lara (sad that it was left hanging without a continuation, it had a lot of potential)
• Modern controls make the gameplay experience much more fluid and enjoyable
• Level and story structure
• Mysterious elements in the story and an unpredictable, unexpected ending
• Variety in achievements, some are actually challenging
• Interesting and varied puzzles, some quite challenging
• Restored dialogue lines and Kurtis’ full abilities with his boomerang weapon
• New Game+ is a welcome and challenging experience
• Improved and pleasant graphics, I didn’t bother comparing with the original version; I just liked how this remastered version looked like
❌ Cons
• Too little gameplay with Kurtis, and his levels feel a bit flat, he’s a character with much more untapped potential; but I guess this is a con for the original game
• Two achievements are semi-bugged, you need to do more or be more precise than the description suggests: Two Steps a Hades and Hit the Floor
• It would’ve been nice to have more combat options, more variety beyond just run/jump/punch/shoot

It's a shame to have use IA for the french version in TR6 (since patch 2).
Nobody ask for that and it's not even better, it's come with some error and bad conjugation.
Please just give us Françoise Cadol back.
