I really enjoyed the gameplay and the graphics are stunning! The level design is well-rounded—it's challenging to escape, but dying is tough, which makes it all the more exciting. Playing with friends left me an amazing exprience, and I loved the mechanics, especially the blondie with the throwing knives—she is fun to play! I hope the developers keep updating the game to keep it fresh. Overall, a fantastic experience!

This game is very hard. Most of the things does not make sense but it is wierdly enjoyable. I wish there were more players inside, right now it is more suitable for groups.

Picked this game up based on watching Mish play it on Twitch and I really enjoy the concept behind the game. It reminds me a lot of how Evil Dead the Game played with dodging the killer and getting items to unlock the possible doors to proceed to escaping
A lot of the base building blocks are put into effect for a full 5 man premade to hop in and enjoy themselves. There's a really good concept here to put match with Evil Dead and Texas Chain Saw Massacre alike, but as of right now with next to none zero marketing for the game, matchmaking just does not exist in this game. If you don't have 5 people to play with or a streamer doing open lobbies of this game, I cannot recommend it in it's current state. With the current state of the world, majority of gamers are looking for matchmaking too, the average player can't setup a session with their FOUR other friends.
I really do want to change my review when I start seeing ads pop up on my X feed or even TikTok, but until then, this game is doing worse marketing itself than Deceive Inc did.
EDIT: This review is from someone who has a lot of experience with asymmetrical games ranging from Dead By Daylight to Prop Night so I more or less understand the gameplay loop of a game in this genre. There was a tutorial and for myself, although it was very wordy and confusing before I entered the game, I picked it up fairly quickly how things worked. So it very well may not make sense for someone brand new to this genre, but with how it's presenting itself right now, only asym "veterens" will most likely find it.

Overall, the game is quite innovative and promises more than other similar games. I believe it will fulfill its potential as it is developed. We had a lot of fun playing the game with our friends.
Positives:
-The atmosphere and theme of the game is quite interesting. The graphics are nice.
-I really like the sound design, be ready for some small noisy surprises.
-It has some interesting mechanics, though a bit hard to learn, and the variety feels good.
-Turning into a zombie and snitching on people and running around is one of the most fun parts of the game.
Negatives:
-The game has the problem of not explaining exactly what we need to do, but the developers say they will change this soon.
-The number of players is low because the game is new and sometimes it takes time to find a quick match.

I've been following this game for a while during it's development, and as much as I hate to leave a negative review, I think that criticism is very important to the potential of this game succeeding. I'm always excited to see new asym games arise, and Altarium was no exception. The game looks very high quality, and for the most part, (at least when it comes to the graphics) it is. It's obvious that the developers put effort into making the game. But the real concern is whether they're willing to keep that same effort after release. This game has a lot of issues that should have been addressed before launch, so it's important that the developers get to fixing them ASAP.

First off, the game runs terribly. This is consistent with a lot of other players, who have stated that they're averaging anywhere from 30 to 40 fps on medium to high settings. I personally have an RX 6750 XT w/ Ryzen 7 and I can barely reach 60fps in a lot of the areas unless I'm on very low settings. Fixing the performance should be a top priority before anything else.

Second, the gameplay is incredibly confusing for both sides and is only explained with a single splash screen before each match. This is the closest you'll get to a tutorial in this game. I can't say that it's helpful information either, because what it gives you is quite vague in explaining how the game works. This game desperately needs a full tutorial at some point.

Finally, the player count. I didn't expect this game to have a large player count going in, but I think it should definitely be something to look into later. Once the developers can get the main issues with the game sorted out, they need to advertise this game as much as possible. Otherwise the game is most certainly dead.
The current state of this game is not good. I think it would have been better to delay the release of the game if it meant fixing a lot of these issues. I'm hopeful for the future of the game, but I'm unsure if the developers feel the same way. I'll wait a week to see if any of these issues get addressed. Otherwise, it's worthy of a refund.

I couldn't tell you anything about the game because not enough people own it to populate the player queue. This game needs a lot more attention and players before it's recommendable. I *guess* if you have 4 friends, and they all want to spend $30 on a concept of a game, then you might be able to do custom lobbies. Good luck..

It really surprises me that this game has turned into a dead game on the first/second day of its release. My first game matching took me 10+ minutes just to find 3 or 4 more players. DO NOT BUY, this game is literally DEAD.

There are no players, no tutorial, custom games are available but the bot movement is wonky. It doesn't have the nice directional sound system you would expect. Disappointed - because the game lore looks and sounds really good.
