If you like anno but not the fighting part and you didn't have so mush time this game is for you. It's a really chill and fun game. The campagn unlock progressively new building which help to learn the game before going in sandbox mode.

This game is really fun. However, playing the game, I reached Dolphin Islands and either I'm completely missing something or it can't be finished. Since the game is quite polished and no one else has said anything, it's probably me. Anyway I need iron to progress but I can't get iron because I can't make bread because there is no coal in the game and no vendor. My houses want bread and paper, both need coal. Help! DUH, there is a coal factory.

Mini Settlers is really more of a factory and automation game that is disguised as a city builder. I think for what this game sets out to do, it achieves its task for the most part. Mini Settlers has a very minimalist feel to it, while also having quite a bit of complexity on the management side of things. I enjoy the simple controls, relaxing atmosphere, and overall feel of the game. Mini settlers does a good job of making you really plan out your city. You are forced to think about what buildings to place next to other buildings, and how your road network should be set up to maximize efficiency. The supply chains are fun to manage, and if you aren't careful, bottlenecks can form easily. I really enjoy the production chains and exploring how lower level resources feed into higher level resources. You really have to plan out your flow of resources in advance, especially with limited space. I also enjoyed the variety of transportation methods you could use, and it was all very easy to set up and manage. Mini Settlers suffers from a lack of variety. Each level feels the same, and most levels don't have many modifiers to mix up gameplay. I enjoyed the level with the vendors instead of farmland and the level with no coal, but besides those, there aren't any modifiers to make games feel unique. I didn't find the monuments satisfying to build, and certain building materials (wooden beams and stone masonry) become useless once you build your monuments. Finally, I think it would be nice if ships and helicopters could carry more than once resource. I find myself having to build lots of these networks due to only being able to carry one resource at a time (maybe you could level up ships or helicopters to carry more than one resource?) I would recommend this game more for factory or automation game enthusiasts than city builders, although city builders would enjoy this too. I think the game has some work to do from early access, but the final product should be worth it.

Fun resource tree building game with minimalist graphics. Easy to see map of your island without lots of extraneous visuals. A little bit of learning at the beginning is needed, and some time to figure out what you really need to make to increase your tech level. Also, road congestion can become a hard to solve issue, but that may just be my naive way of dealing with it. I really love this style of simple graphics and the way the game is not in a hurry.
