Me and my friends got this and it was really fun. With great mechanics and a healthy variety of choices for upgrading your ship, for the price it is (I got it at RM15.50) it's absolutely worth it especially when you only need one person to buy it and you can play remotely, or actually get out of your house. It's also not super rage inducing so on normal it's a great casual game to play. Although I do think this game is best suited for 4-players as I don't think it's possible with 2 players unless you're doing it as a challenge or are the Faker of couch games 10/10

Spoilers ahead, will be marked! At the time of review, I have beat the game, gotten all achievements, and unlocked all the player character skins. I have also played this game before on console, so bear in mind that the hours played might be deceptive. I also played by myself, without friends. I played with a controller. All around, this is a pretty great game! I would say that its greatest strength is the simplicity of its gameplay loop, Explore and Upgrade -> Rescue -> Escape. Though I did not play this with any friends, I can see how this would be a fun/chill game to play with them. The game has a difficulty slider, and is rather forgiving when you die. I would say it is accessible to new players. The gameplay loop was fun, the achievements were easy for me to grind out (Important if you care about being a completionist), and the music for it awesome. Highly recommend this game. Spoilers beyond this point! Since I was playing solo, a CPU assistant aided me in my adventure. It took me a while to learn what the cpu prioritizes, but I was eventually able to work with it just fine. TIP: Put the CPU on Shields. The cpu didn't prioritize the things I would want to shoot at when I put it on the turret, so It mostly just sat on shields instead. A found some of the gem combos to be underwhelming or confusing. - Power + Metal on Turret gives you a controllable rocket, but I had problems firing it. Possibly a bug. - Power + Metal on Shields gives you a shield with *some* protrusions, but not enough so that I would consider using it on any sort of run. My issue with it is that Just Metal or Just Power on Shields gives you a better shield than the combo does. - Beam + Metal on the Yamato Cannon. Worse than just Metal on the Yamato Cannon: less speed, misses enemies, etc. - Metal on the Engine. Just leaves Caltrops. Felt lame to me. On the flip side, i found some combos to be quite powerful! - Beam + Beam on the Yamato Cannon. Great for obliterating bosses. - Metal + Beam on Shields. Play legos with your enemies bullets. and joust them. very fun. - Metal + Beam on Steering. Great for running away from your problems. - Power + Power on Turret. Best DPS option in the game, I think. If you want to spend as little time on completing this game as you can, try finding and escaping with all 10 friends in each level before moving on to the next one. You only need 5 to move on, but remember that every level (that isn't a boss level) has 10 people.

I'm not a god-tier gamer - my skill level is roughly on par with 'normal difficulty' for most games (not Fromsoft lol). On beginner mode, my partner and I found the 2nd half of the game stressful rather than fun. Maybe this game is optimally designed for 4 players? Maybe I'm disproportionately bad at this type of game? Make of this what you will.

Nice game bu absolutely atrocious controller management. Makes it extremely frustrating to play with more than 1-2 people. Every time you launch the game, controllers and their buttons get randomly reassigned. You then have to go through the painstaking process of assigning each player their controller, and re-assigning controls for each controller. If you don't, half of the controllers don't work, and the other half control more than one character. This also happens if your controller goes to sleep or gets accidentally disconnected, ruining the whole experience. Probably 75% of the time we just ended our gaming session because of that.

A really great game to play with your kids as a couch co-op. Runs perfectly on steam deck.

This game has a polished modern look but don't be fooled, the gameplay mechanics in this are super fried. The ship controls are jankey asf (which is part of the charm). But it is probably most fun with 3-4 players. I find it easier with single player using the pet friend in the game than 2 players (because of timing). It would be nice if you could have pets with 2 players (since it supports up to 4 players). Either way super cute vibes and addicting gem upgrade system. Would recommend.

This game has been a very frustrating up and down experience. I see many reviews saying this game works best with 3-4 players and I'd have to agree. My partner and I love co-op games, but this one has an incredible jump in difficulty at the start of the third campaign. We coasted through the first two, but the new mechanics like wind, frozen enemies, and enemies that don't ever really die made the game an annoying slog. For now we've stopped playing, which is really disappointing because the first two campaigns were some of the most fun we've had in a co-op game.
