interesting ideas, however the game broke down on the tutorial and wouldn't let me play any cards - then went to a black screen which was unplayable,. Sad, because there were some cool concepts!

So got pretty deep into a run, beat armchair dude, decide to finish out the map and clear it out. The game crashes after multiple hours into the run, but it's chill the main menu gives the option to continue....... and it crashes. Every single time. Oh and don't worry, want to start a new run, well all that progress from the old run is just gone now if you decide to do that. So either lose hours of your time on a run that you don't get to keep progress on, or just don't beat the arm chair guy (technically the final boss as the game give you the option to continue your run to clear the map out, start new game plus, or return to the main menu). The reason I say this, is joining the discord, it seems to be a fairly common bug, and honestly not having any choice but to lose my progress or hope that the game gets patched without my save being bricked I honestly just can't recommend it right now. Which is a shame because the game play loop is pretty solid, having to balance out the risk of your next fight while still building the deck you need to win. The downside is that runs can take quite a long while, and at the end, you may have just wasted your time since none of your experience you earned over multiple hours will matter if the game crashes and your save crashes the game upon load, ever single time. If this gets fixed, and I notice a decrease in the discord's bug section of this exact bug or a slightly different version where you just lose all of your progress, from again, and I can't stress this enough; A MULTI-HOUR RUN. Then I will remove this review, which I do feel for the devs on this, I highly doubt they want this bug to exist either. They seem fairly dedicated to this, and I have hope to see it fixed in the future.

It's an interesting game with a lot of good ideas, but good lord the bugs. - 2x soft-lock in the tutorial that I had to restart the game to recover from - twice it's eaten my savegame, destroying all progress. - discord server is dead as a dodo, no devs present or responding even when posting full reproduction steps. If they improve it I might rethink, for now it's uninstall time.

Maybe I need to revisit it.. but I didn't really have fun with this one. I think it may be that I didn't feel like I had control over the deck or the playstyle understood the playstyle mechanic. The animations are missing on the enemies.. so it often doesn't look like anything is attacking you, and numbers just happen? Also all the numbers have those two extra zeroes.. cause yuugioh? Just didn't feel this one.. nothing wrong or broken, just wasn't having fun.

I enjoyed this game a lot. But i really can't say its good. Its very much carried by its theme. "Be Giant F* Dragon mowing down waves of enemies and heroes", but after that fades, it leave behind a game that is very rough around the edges. Most mechanics are either barely functional, useless, or tuned weird. Its also lacking some very obvious and needed quality of life polish. For example when you gain a random epic or legendary card as a reward it just adds it to your deck without showing what you got and you have to dig around in your deck to find out what you just got. And i just realized i finished a run by an achivement popping up in steam O.o. There are also a number of boss fights in the game which straigth up invalidate certain builds. Super annoying. But even after all these complaints i still enjoyed my time with this game. Pick it up on a sale and treat it as a 5-10 hour movie. You'll get your fun out of it.

I wanted to like this game, after playing a few hours of the over all game loop, i was bored out of my mind and falling asleep while i was playing, to be honest not really even sure why this game is not great, too bad too concept is cool, but execution is feels very flat. wait for a sale i guess, but i give it a "blah"

It's laggy, it's rough around the edges, its talent tree is oddly constricting and doesn't quite seem to understand the existence of other classes, and the tiles on the map and the area-indicator on the cards showing what tiles they affect are rotated differently. All in all it feels like an early access game still going through growing pains. But dang it, it's fun. I'm a dragon, there's tile based fighting, geomancy combos, and silly little cut-scenes for each boss. It won't be the next Slay the Spire, but it scratches the itch.
