Ever wanted to juggle resources, manage a thriving industrial colony, and exploit EVERYTHING (including your enemies) all while feeling like an intergalactic tycoon? Well, buckle up! It’s easy to pick up but will have you staring at hex tiles like a crazed stockbroker trying to predict the next big market crash. Expand your empire and turn everything into cold, hard space cash all in the name of expanding your tech tree. I enjoyed the simplicity of this game as this genre isn't one I would normally play. I'll definitely be playing it a bit more as its a perfect casual game that I can play when i want to relax but still play video games.

I wouldn't reccomend it now. It's more or less an idle game. There are three main puzzles: Creep your defenses towards nests quickly between the nights. Overproduce something to sell and always keep some money for salaries. Replace centralized production with optimised local production. 1 – The first puzzle is trivial: build the next storage to expand and construct a laser tower nearby. 2 – The second is trivial but not obvious. The game punishes you harshly if you spend too much and can’t pay salaries (though it doesn’t explicitly tell you this). However, overproducing food to sell enough is easy from day one. 3 – This one is awkward. You’d want to have, say, a power station supply mines directly instead of going through solar panels → storage → mine to reduce strain on the storage. However, the ratios change all the time, so you either have to juggle it constantly, overproduce, or mix local and centralized production. Priorities are set at the receiving end instead of the sending end, which severely limits customization options. The rest of the game is about the same. You build a mine for a new resource, process it in a new building, and sell it to orbit. Several points for the developers: I mentioned this during beta: The game includes water and the "void" which is foreign concepts for many players. These aren’t described and could confuse a lot of new players. And fog of war with 3 shades of gray doesn't make it easier. A brief explanation and mayby color coding (say red or black void) would make the game much easier to grasp. There aren't enough puzzles. Adding ten more resources to create another gather → sell loop doesn't add much. Making a better ammo from these resources is just slightly better. Here’s a short list of ideas to add puzzles to the game: A building to aggro aliens and tank damage. Pathfinding for aliens so that tower defense is possible, and shooting aliens on the nest isn’t the obviously best strategy. A short-range, high-throughput building to replace storage for heavy-load transportation. Priorities on links instead of priorities on buildings. The ability to make different links per resource. Losing laser towers with 50% ammo but without personnel feels bad. Puzzles that incorporate landscapes with several types of terrain, so the player has to strategize around them, especially early in the game before resources for terraforming are plentiful. Alternative research paths, with no obvious best choice. Right now the EA version feel exactly like demo but drugged with more of the same.

Game is amazing and really fun to play. Been seeing this over the past few years being developed and now that I get to play it, it's crazy good. Definitely challenging and really only issue was the soldiers dropping in without the way point got stuck under my HQ, but I know that will get handled quickly. Super fun!

It's basically an RTS with a huge focus on flow control and waves of monsters coming at you ever few minutes. The tutorial gave some really handy hints on how to deal with the flow control aspect and I probably would have been lost without it. There always seems to be something you need to keep an eye on or else you're going to be having a bad time. I wasn't sure what to think about it at first, but it's pretty addicting. I was planning on being productive tonight and thought I was just going to check this out for a little bit, but that didn't happen.

I enjoy playing Deep Space Directive. I like the chill music and vibe with the occasional danger. It feels like a colony building game with the added twist of tower defense. I like both those types of games and this game seems awesome.

Game is alot of fun. An interesting version of a Tower Defense. Seems pretty well balanced so you cant really burn through the upgrades. Developer is active with updates and bug fixes and seems to have many cool things coming as the game nears it's development completion.

Deep Space Directive feels like a chill resource puzzle with a great tech/space feel. I found myself spending time maximizing the routes from my mines to smelters, water to farms, and easing the load on my HQ. Combat is a nice break from management at night to give a little extra pressure, and the resources it gives to build more terrain has been a cool feature for expanding. Overall i've had a great time with the game and it's been cool and i'm interested to see where the game goes.
