I'm sad I really cannot recommend this game. if you like the cozy nature of the previous scribblenauts games, you're not going to find that here. the story is unfortunately very black and white and tries too hard to make maxwell cool that I find myself wishing he was silent, this complaint is including the comics as well. now as for gameplay..- it's hard to get attached to most of the characters due to the predictable nature of the plot, there is lack of character development for the majority of the characters with the only exception being doppelganger and alfred. but it's clear the developers and artists put a lot of effort into this collaboration and that is shown beautifully in the amount of content you can write. the puzzles themselves are less... charming than the previous games, perhaps that's the best way to put it. the combat system feels extremely out of place— it's like discovering you had a third arm for the first time, and you don't really know what to do with it, as you there is no purpose for one.. however I do think it's a perfect engine to simulate fighting between npcs. I just wish it wasn't an essential element of the overall gameplay experience, I genuinely hope this is a one time thing as it does not fit the nature of the scribblenauts franchise at all. perhaps the intention of this game was to celebrate the DC universe, I think they did that beautifully. it's most likely not intended to be a celebration of the scribblenauts franchise. TL;DR if you want to experience the story and are a dc fan, go for it, but as for general audiences I do not recommend this game.

The game is good, and worth the price, I suppose. But I do believe it could have been a lot more well made: The translations are bad, it took me an hour to figure out that Superman vs Lex Luthor, you have in french to write 'in kryptonite' as an adjective instead of just 'kryptonite' like in english. The themes are messed up, Alfred can be found in Superman's icy place that's literally for himself so he can be calm alone, away from everyone. Sure there are themes, like sea animals for Aquaman and Lanterns for Oa, but it would be SO good for the ambiance, to see less popular DC characters, and just for everyone, if characters that spawn in each place, are actually themed on the place. In the end, good enough game, but could have been better.

Better combat system from unlimited. Aside from that I'd not recommend. I know I haven't played it much but so far it's not enjoyable. Quests are not fun and dialogue somewhat feel tedious.

If you're a DC fan, you'll enjoy the easter eggs and tongue-in-cheek references in the series. The developers gave a lot of love to niche DC details, and I love them for it!
A waste of money
While i liked the first Scribblenauts game, how it offered challenges that you had to be creative to solve and a lot of different scenarios and missions. This game i absolutely hate! You gather points by solving quests on a map and spawning objects you haven't previously spawned before which is a neat concept to encourage people to not spam the same few words. Problems arise however when you need to grind to get these points to unlock new areas and outfits and you quickly realize all these missions are just two dozen or so missions repeated. -Deliver donuts to developers -Scare (person) -Protect (historic person) from (random person) -Make me less feral -Give me a disguise -This place is dirty, find 3 trash bags -I lost my three (object) find them for me. Enjoy playing on Oa, Central city, Atlantis and Themyscira over and over, because out of all the outfits you need to unlock, and the origin story missions and regular missions. The points you get from those worlds is used to purchase like 2/3 of all things in the game. The points you get from metropolis you can use for like, 4 outfits, and 2 more worlds and then they are useless. You also get "challenges" from Mister Mxyzptlk, which doubles your points after making things more challenging. But that's complete bollocks. He might tell you "You're only allowed to spawn DC superheroes" and then the challenges (since they are randomized) will be something like "Give me a round object to strike with my golf club) And i tried giving him ball-shaped DC characters, doesn't work. Its not designed in a way where missions are doable if his challenge is active, its all just guesswork. If you enjoyed Scribblenauts i don't think you will enjoy this game. They spent all the time and budget on making a bunch of DC characters you will never get any use from spawning.
