Nice little rally game!
Very arcady and pretty easy, it's fun for a few races now and then.
Works perfectly on Steam Deck.

Ignore the other reviews about the handling being doo doo, as I've figured out the solution (along with a couple other reviewers).
Make sure to mess with your controls if you're using a gamepad and try out linear along with the other modes. I switched to linear and the game became 20x more enjoyable.
Very fun arcade rally racer that offers a lot of room to improve times via line changes and perfecting techniques; I can strongly recommend this one. It's not as good as Art of Rally, but let's be honest, there isn't a single arcade rally game out there that comes close.

Despite no longer being in Early Access, #DRIVE Rally feels incomplete and unpolished.
While playing this game on my Steam Deck, I can't ignore how loud the fans get, and how quickly the battery is drained. This low-polygon primitive graphics has no business consuming that much processing power. Also, let's face it, this visual style is already getting old.
The implementation of this graphics is not even enjoyable. While in motion, the high-contrast world objects are displeasurable to follow. Especially with large intransparent dust clouds coming behind the car, basically obstructing the view.
Sound design isn't good either. Only one music track in the menu, no music while driving. The 'emotional' co-pilot is most annoying, and with 'emotions' turned off it's basically a crappier version of a minimap we don't have here. Also, the loud sound of screeching tires (louder than the engine) is insufferable.
The gameplay is... meh. Basically solo racing against the timer (or without it), no actual opponents (except for 'ghosts') whatsoever. And the driving isn't even that good. No matter what controller settings I use, steering with analog stick doesn't feel smooth and responsive enough. And the manual transmission is a bit tedious, with both 1st and 2nd gears having no 'volume' (might as well merge them into a single one).
I played this game and I played NFS 5 Porsche Unleased — well, what do you know, the 25 year old game looks and feels better than this one in nearly every aspect.

This is a great game.
I didnt mess with car customization and I didnt do much free roaming either.
But the cars feel unique. And they are REALLY fun to drive.
Some of the other comments mention problems that I never experienced.
The game never crashed. The game never reset unlocks. The game never lost progress. I never got stuck on an object.
Only complaint is I wish the trailing camera was slightly further back. Or the very far back camera was aimed lower.
Worth the money. Buy it if you like arcade racers, especially rally style.

I loved the art style, but... it is just not fun.
everyone already criticized the handling, but i think should bring up the "career" of this game and it is progression.
The "career" or championship, is divided in teams, each team representing a country with the co-pilot being a stereotype of that country and the car available to those teams being similar to those in real life from those countries.
I liked the idea, and initially when I saw this feature in the store page, I thought the "career" would be similar to "ridge racer type 4" or the "f1 series" in which you help to develop your team against the other teams that you did not choose, but it was not that at all.
Not only you have just 3 car per team (with each car having 3 versions of performance) but the area in which you play those teams are also restricted, German team? yeah, you only play in Germany with that team, and let me tell you, it gets boring fast. why not let me play that team but in multiple locations?
"well, what about the progression?" you win money, but you only use to customize cars outside of the career mode. The only sense of progression on the "career" mode is unlocking the other performance versions of the only 3 cars available to your team. that is it.
If a developer read my review, please take in consideration sense of progression in future updates or games, I never really liked the handling in "ridge racer type 4" but the gameplay loop and the short story of the team that i choose depending on me made me fall for it to this day, even if the handling is not that good if there are other fun gameplay elements people will like it.

Disappointed...
Going into this game i was rather exited, considering the creativity i saw from the mobile version of the game. And some of that carried over to this game, like the well executed low poly art-style and the charming characters. But from here everything kinda falls apart.
Let's start from the most important thing - cars. The car collection is actually pretty good, with some unique options, not always included in other rally titles. The problem is that these cars all handle rather similarly, so at the end of the day it feels just like a skin. The customisation is also limited, due to most parts being locked behind classes, so on CL access parts from SL and XR and so on. Which means that only higher class have all the option. For each car you can pick a colour pallet and a basic livery, but you can't edit ether. What annoys me the most, is that your custom cars are not saved and disappear, idk if that's intended or just a bug, but it makes this whole feature useless unless you're ready to redo everything every time you log in .
Now how and where you can drive. The game offers basically 3 "gamemodes": championships - where you are given a specific car and track to run. Free roam - where you can freely explore the maps. and Quick race - where you choose your car / track and go. All of these are bare bones. Free roam makes you realise how boring and in many cases incomplete all the maps are, with some object floating in the air, some big ones not having any collisions and so on. And this is not some where in the corners, it can be right next to the main tracks. The champion ship is meh... there are no stakes, you race against no one, getting 1 place is easy and so on.
The driving it self... could have saved this game. But it's probably the worst part. Like i said, most cars handle very similarly and this handling isn't very good. To me it felt inconsistent and floaty. Add to this the offensively aggressive collision physics and driving starts being a chore. Bumping into certain objects makes you fly into the air or glitch into the ground, and what is frustrating is you won't know until you hit that specific rock or tree. For example some rock get crushed just slowing you down a little bit, but some twigs stop you dead.
The game does get updates. But currently, I feel like with the amount of creative and impressive rally games on steam - #Drive Rally is a waste of time and space on your computer.

Generally good Game, with a lot of potencial - But has major issues, which require fixing.
If you are worried about the reviews saying either a) bad co pilot or b) horrible handling, I can ease your worry: Just open your options and there is a fix. the co pilote is standard set at "emotional", put them on standard and its fine, otherwise they will not interrupt their comment about your speed or crash to announce a corner. and for b) the game has different handling presets, just try which one suits you.
+++ To my surprise every car feels really different, no car feels like another. some are really good on the worst power lvl, some are bad there and thrive on the fastest, vise versa. some have bad handling but are slow, vise versa, some are really heavy, smaller cars are generally speaking really difficult to control on high speed or on straight road. its really fun learning the different cars and behaviours
+++ The Sound Design is AMAZING. as with the first point every car sounds different. the engine and the gear shift both.
+ The different Co Pilots have quite fun personalities
++ The Sunlight was interesting. Usually you have either a) the sun is blinding you completely or b) the sun is not noticeable --> This game has a very unique solution, in some races the sun is blinding you, but may that be the case, the reflector shields are seeable and reflect that so you have to take your orientation from that reflection, very cool.
++ The freeroam mode where you have to find collectibles was really fun to explore
--- The AI ist really drastic in difficulty increase. While on medium I have often between 40seconds up to 70 seconds between me and the second driver, driving against hard puts me on place 11 with +15-25 seconds. there needs to be a step between that. a semi-hard difficulty.
--- If you crash with high speed your car gets stuck in objects sometimes and you have to reset
--- After restarting the game you have a high chance that the car customizations does get reset
--- After restarting the game, you have a high chance that all unlocked cars are not unlocked anymore
- Not a big deal in comparison but the translations are a mix-match, some words are english, some are german, kinda weird
So yeah, while the driving itself is SUPER fun and feels super good and I love the game in general, the issues it has are quite severe, ruining my fun with it. Like I would give it a 4,5/10, fix the issues and its a 9/10 arcade racer.
