This commander is pretty nice but such DLC politics is terrible!

Very good german commander - I would use all 5 attributes in a match: all useful. Area bombing very useful late game, the short barrelled Stug iii is awesome against ru/us infantry spams, the pgrens in a half track are great, assault grenadiers are very durable and tiger needs no introduction. No fault

Hilarious commander that lets you have the excuse to not tech up the battle phase (or just 1 for the MG42) nor build any buildings (aside from infanterie kompanie for the support weapons, but yet still skippable). Though, expect a hard game using this commander if you cannot gain the initiative in the early game, such as by letting the other commander get early armored cars or tanks from letting them capping too many important points. Shame about the price point however.

The DLC doesn't work... I installed it only to find out it doesn't show up when trying to equip the commander... I submitted a ticket, and it hasn't replied in 2 weeks. Tried everything including re-installing the game, and it still doesn't work. Overall, the units look cool, but until this is fixed I am not recommending it, sorry.

I always said pioneers were men who did everything no one else wanted to do and thats why the command gave them mp40's so while they are in the mud disarming mines or shoveling other kinds of shit they can at least say they are well armed. Well even so that doesn't work for us since their fighting capabilities with mp40's are not as good as before so if you miss the old charges while blazin your machinepistol this is the doctrine for you. This is the only doctrine in OH arsenal that has assault grenadiers and while that is not nice of relic we have to count our blessings. Assault squad comes with 5 german bastards that will hapily gun down any american or bolshevik you command the to do, and if you waste some ammo they will even actually charge to them. Since they are bloodthirsty bastards instead of one grenade every single one of them will bomb the area you command and while the mass of explosions looks satisfactionary you'r munitions will dwindle fast so use those granades with care. Friendly note, don't spam assaults because while they are neat they have no panzerschrecks. Many will say that second ability is useless but don't forget just because you got panzergrenadiers with the halftrack doesn't mean you have to have panzergrens inside it. What I am trying to say is you now have a clown car of your own and we can all agree it looks much nicer than the soviet one. What can I say, germans have style. Call in stug will not blend, kill tanks or make you breakfast but it will devastate every building or man...when he hits. And if you are worried about its AT capabilities if you are careful enough at rank 1 you will manage to disable enemy tanks which is always useful (and at vet 2 the bugger becomes harder to kill so yay). If you actually survived long enough to get arty support and tiger you are probably winning or holding your ground as a true German so why not push the game forward with those two callins? Arty the setup and shed a tear while seeing your hated enemy blow up leaving only chared bodies, storm the breach with your grenadiers and put the final nail in the ivans coffin with your mighty Tiger. The victory is there to be taken, you just have to be bold enough. The commander is useful in 1vs1 and team games and by my opinion is a must have.

Hands down this is my favorite commander for the original Germans and is likely going to be very popular with people who loved Coh 1. First up the assualt granadiers unlock on zero command points which is great letting you call in a combat effective and point grabbing unit off the bat. Every review here will point out that they don't have panzerfausts but you really shouldn't be dependent on them anywau so it's not such an issue in my book since they make up for it with their MP-40's and sprinting powers. They'll mess up most other infantry 1v1 at close range and they only cost 40 more manpower than normal granadiers plus they have a whole extra man in each squad (thats right no half men in these squads all limbs accounted for people). The Halftrack with panzer granadiers is a great call in with both panzershreck upgrades optional and the opentoped varient of the halftrack, so you have a great mobile weapons platform (so you can put pioneers in there with a flamer or the shreks depending what you feel like doing, also if you liked the panzer elite in Coh 1 this will feel familiar). There are a couple of things to look out for since this is the 250 not the 251 halftrack be aware when choosing your bullitins and more importantly you cannot reinfore from this halftrack. Much as I loved the panzer elite those halftracks were overpowered. The StuG-III Ausf. E is a short barreled assualt gun designed to take on fortifications in an infantry support role, this thing is not for fighting tanks. It's suppose to stick with infantry mounted in halftracks and take out mg's while intantry take out AT guns. It's handy to deal with infantry especially conscripts and shock troops who have less chance to cause it to much worry by themselves but remember that it's got a nieche and don't expect it to perform miricles. The light barrage lets you break up concentrations of infantry like riflemen swarms and conscripts swamping you, but it says light for a reason don't expect it to mess up a tank or destroy a building. The Tiger rounds out this list nicely giving you a line breaking heavy armoured monster to draw fire while the other elements destroy the AT infantry threats and flank tanks. This commander is really tactically flexible but works really well with a mobile, aggressive and well coordinated mindset. This commander works well in 1v1 and can take point in larger games working well with more support based commanders. If you like the sound of this commander I really reccomend picking up the case blue bundle since you'll get the theatre of war missions, this boss commander and the counter attack soviet commander which is pretty good value even when it's not on sale.

Not the greatest commander, the tiger is extremely strong as always, but the grenadiers are very weak and lose the ability to shoot a panzerfaust, and the stug 3 with Egun cannot kill another tank for crap. The light barrage is weak and easily dodged and the half track is killed very quickly. Edit: New favorite commander: Grenadiers are pretty much unstoppable when massed, still hate the potato grenades for the panzerfaust but whatever. The stug sucks dont even try it. the halftracks are pretty strong, but can get blown up quick. Light barrage is good but dodged fairly easily in pvp. the tiger tanks are pretty damn strong but a panther worth 175 fuel is about the same. i get around 300 kills per game with this commander when im pulling the team, and around 250 when im in second(have never been lower except when i started using it). My strat for this commander is to never build any buildings but only advance in age once so you can activate panzershreks and potato grenades. All units come from commander and can easily combat tanks with 2 halftracks v 1 light or heavy tank. tigers can later be massed for complete sweep of the map. Another neat thing is that on swamp maps the grenadiers can sprint through the marsh like they would on normal land so they are exttremely usefull in chasing enemies in bogs, or getting out of them ASAP I have seen other people use the first/ second building to get the at guns and mgs but they really arent worth it in my opinion.

I like this Commander above all others cause: 1) you get an inicial hability from the same moment you start the game. 2) Allthough the Assault grenadiers are weaker and have no Panzerfaust, they are still 5 and in close combat they are much better. 3) I see it quite balanced, you get infantry artillery and even a Tiger tank. I strongly recommend this commander,
