A fun concept broken by the spawning system, dropping enemies directly on top of you

I refunded, because it doesn't have directional controls. It has "realistic" controls where you have to keep an eye out on which direction the ship is facing. I cannot play these types of games, I am too boomer. But the game itself seems fun, it has cool meta system etc.

https://youtu.be/awSOesQealw I've had fun with this game and I will definitely play it in the future again. In this early access top-down roguelike game is all about the upgrades and how well you can fly your ship dodging enemies. Some suggestions that I have are, for one, more bosses. I got to sector eighteen and I didn't fight any boss. Also so more types of upgrades would've been nice. All in all this game really deserves the price tag and I recommend it for fans of roguelike game. I'm sure the dev will update the game with more content in the future.

The game's visuals are stunning, with vibrant and colorful space environments that make each battle a visually captivating spectacle. Combined with a pulsating soundtrack, Light Speed Ride Out succeeds in creating an immersive atmosphere that draws you into the cosmic mayhem. Moreover, the rogue-lite elements add a thrilling element of surprise to each playthrough. The procedurally generated levels and unpredictable enemy encounters kept me on my toes, constantly adapting my strategies to survive and thrive in this unforgiving galaxy. Light Speed Ride Out is an outstanding space-themed arena shooter that offers a perfect blend of action, strategy, and exploration. Its roguelite elements, ship upgrades, crew management, and cooperative multiplayer create an addictive gaming experience that space enthusiasts and shooter fans will adore. I can't wait to see what the developers have in store for this stellar title. Highly recommended!

Great rough like space shooter! The individual levels are short enough for a quick game, at the same time the many possibilities to upgrade your ship, increase the size of your space colony and invest in research change the game enough with any run to keep it interesting for many hours of gameplay.

There are a lot of possibilities to upgrade your ship with different engines and weapons and to get new crew members (and to fire them if you dislike them), which makes every round unique. There are some surprising events occurring with good or bad outcomes, depending on how you decide, which adds a fun element to the game. After a few rounds, you quickly understand which elements seem more important to upgrade, and you get better fast, which makes it really addictive. I would recommend it; it's definitely a good bang for your buck.

Simple and lightweight game but the longer you play, the more possibilities you get, to upgrade your ship, buy different weapons, get more crew members and so on... There are a lot of funny details and the graphics are really sophisticated - Great! I wonder, what comes next...

I like the sci-fi aspect of this game and how it impacts the gameplay. Flying around a spaceship in the maps dodging enemy ships and trying to destroy them feels so much different than the other kinds of these games I've played so far. I really like it. You have to manage how many and what type of weapons and engines and gadgets you have equipped on your ship. Try to sacrifice too much mobility for damage or something else, and you won't be able to outrun the enemies after a few sectors. Not enough damage, and you won't be able to kill enough enemies to get enough scrap to upgrade your ship and/or buy new weapons, gadgets, and/or engines between sectors. Speaking of sectors, I like that the game has smaller maps and shorter times between them and at first I didn't think I would, but it's nice to have a break every so often to try and plan out the rest of your run. The other games in this horde survival style I've played have that pause when you're deciding your next upgrade upon level up, but this one has you trying to survive a certain amount of time until your warp drive is active and you move to the next sector. Then you get to choose to keep or dismiss a new crew member if you found one in the last sector (or scrap it if it's a robot) and then spend your scrap on a selection of 4 upgrades and you can spend an increasing amount of scrap to roll new upgrades if you bought them all or didn't see ones you wanted. This is where you'll get and reposition your engines, gadgets, and weapons on your ship. Every weapon has a range at which it'll start attacking that can be increased (or decreased) from buying upgrades with scrap or finding different crew members-positioning those weapons around your ship will help you target pursuers or stop incoming threats a little better. So far, I've gotten thru the first 10 sectors where you'll meet your first boss. It has a lot of health and there are enemies constantly spawning in like the other sectors before it. I haven't beaten it yet, but on one of my runs, I got an upgrade I bought that let me get an extra escape pod so more than just my captain returned when I failed that run. That seems to be to me the other way you can increase your colony's number of residents and upgrade more tech between runs. That brings me to one of the more interesting aspects of this game that really sold me on it. If you complete your mission (or get the upgrade for extra escape pods), you bring back all the crew members you rescued and can add them to your colony ship where they can be assigned to either the Hangar, Factory, Biolad, or Shrine where you can assign them to help you research permanent upgrades for future runs. Researching those upgrades requires a certain number of colonist with specific professions assigned to those areas of the Colony Ship in order to research them and having 5 colonists all assigned to any one of those areas will let you upgrade the tech level at least the first time. So I'm assuming once you complete your first mission and subsequent ones, you can be nabbing an extra 5 colonists and getting some pretty decent upgrades to help with future runs. My Captain keeps gaining xp for himself between runs and there's an Academy tab on the main menu that lets you pick between an upgrade for your Captain (maybe other crew members later on, too) that is also permanent and helps you on future runs. I've leveled him up once and boosted my damage by 10% so far. That brings me to the final part of the review-I'm still on the first mission on the first difficulty level out of 5 for this game. I'm surprised at how cheap it's being sold given how much content I already see here even though I haven't beaten even so much as the first boss and seen what lies beyond that. If you like any of these horde survival games, I definitely recommend checking this one out. It's pretty fun so far and I can't wait to see what else it has to offer.

A rogue like game similar to brotato/vampire survivors with a very unique visual style: Pretty backgrounds, ships and weapon/ship parts but tough gameplay. It's still early access but it already shows a lot of potential: different ships, weapons, crew members, seemingly endless combinations. You can't really go wrong with this, especially considering the low price tag.
