Good Buy if you like Chess and variant versions.
Can make new Pieces (with own art if you want too) and Boards as well.
Has a Workshop.
AI seems good to me.
Nice to play and tinker with.
Just buy and make your own games to add to the Workshop for others to share as well.

The Chess game starts with the kings and queens on the wrong colors. Queens should be on the same color square as their side. For example the white queen starts on a white square. This should be fixed by the developer. White has first move in Chess. The program gives black first move.
The GUI is quite good and it is easy to change languages. The program supports many of the more common versions of Chess like Shogi and Xiang Xi.
In Shogi the king is not actually captured. The game simply ends when the king has no safe move.

This has a great idea behind it, but it isn't quite where it wants to be.
You can create - reasonably freely - own games or customize existing ones.
However there are currently 3 main problems I have with the game:
1. a lack of tutorials. If you don't know a game - let's say Shogi or xian qi - then good luck playing it. There is often a hint for special moves like en passant in chess, but that's all.
I didn't expect a full guide with advanced theory and so on but the basics, to get new Players up to a baseline where they understand the rules and can actually play the game would've been nice.
2. Like half of the pre-existing games do not have an AI, so you can't play them without a second human player - so if you want to play Go - that's not the platform you're looking for.
3. The games that have an AI have a static - weak - AI. I tried my hand in Chess and I'm not a regular let alone good player but I completly destroyed the AI. Regardless of the Strength of an AI you can't really provide an engaging experience for various players wih one difficulty. A difficulty Setting - say something like level 1 to 10 - would've been nice.
Again - I like the concept and hope that ALL chess will get really good, but right now it is sadly lacking in some crucial aspects.
