Overall a unique and fun game. The different disease types offer different strategies and varies the gameplay a bit. I like that the game lets you unlock things by beating previous modes without needing the hardest mode beaten. The only disease type so far that I have an issue with is the zombie virus which seems to have a balancing issue due to there being way too many upgrades you need to buy in order to win which is unrealistic with how fast you get points and how easily people catch on, if they removed zombie decay then beating normal mode wouldnt feel like im fighting a bear with a toothpick. As an example of how rediculous zombie mode is, I almost beat it first try apart from 2 small surviving islands, I would have been able to stop them finishing the cure but I had little points remaining so upgrading wasnt an option and when I went to move some zombies over there they were all dead, I only just managed to infect and kill the world with all the upgrades I got which include: protection against hot, cold and meds, a means to spread, zombies, the ability to move and revive zombies, decay protection (although apparently not enough) and the strength for my zombies to fight. The fact that even other people with winning strategies confirmed by others are still struggling. If I wanted to play a harder mode I would pick a harder difficulty, zombies has the potential to be the best mode due to the ability to control the zombies but it falls flat and loses my interest when its so infuriatingly difficult on normal mode. The other disease types however offer fun challenges that require you to use different strategies. Bacteria is the basic disease that lets you figure out the game without any added quirks, A good jumping off point to experiment with. virus offers a fun challenge and is one of my favourites, since it mutates so wildly and costs points to devolve rather than refunding them it turns into a race of infecting the world before it mutates too much to get noticed and starts killing people. I once had a run where the mutations beelined for coma and total organ failure, two of the most deadly symptoms. Fungus lets you release spores if a country is being particularly stubborn which relieves some of the anticipation from waiting for that one country to get infected. nuerax worm offers different upgrades for transmission and symptoms not only offering some fun story alongside your disease but also requires you to think of how these upgrades can work together after getting accustomed to the usual ones. It also gives an alternate way to win, instead of killing humanity you can make them worship the disease which gives a reason to replay it more. parasite and prion I dont remember much about. the rest of the game modes I cant speak on since I have not played or unlocked them mainly due to the zombie issue. the simian flu introduces the need for more strategy as well as more upgrades to learn, it is like a faster version of the virus with the added addition of zombie like mechanics, it being faster than the virus makes it so you cant spread quick enough which is a big downside to this mode as well as the fact that despite having the required upgrades to spread in certain areas it will just stop spreading at some point which feels unfair, this mode has good potential but feels unbalanced similar to the zombie mode. the vampire disease adds more strategy again and gives you a single vampire to control meaning its a good idea to move them around frequently in order to try and avoid detection, this makes it a fun game of cat and mouse while your trying to infect the world, you also get the ability to gain more vampires so overall I do like this mode and it feels like what I expected the zombie mode to feel like. there are multiple factors which make this game very replayable such as the scenarios which have both official ones and workshop ones and these can feel like entirely new modes or disease types. some other things that increase its replayability is that starting in different countries gives different challenges and rewards, you can get different pre-game upgrades that give different boosts or hinderences depending on what your looking for, the different difficulties mean you can really stress test your strategies and there is a speedrun mode to try and win with the best time. The multiplayer seems like an interesting concept, you vs someone else and you dont know where they have placed their disease or what they are upgrading and you have to be the last remaining deisease on earth. The one person I did play against seemed to be able to do everything way faster than plausable and was able to instantly take over countries even though I had all the right upgrades to do the same and my disease occupied the country for way longer, ulitmately they lost because they killed all of their infected so if anyone is playing really agressive and killing a lot of people you can just make it so your infected is harder to infect then they will kill their own and you win. Because you are playing against other people it adds some fluidity to the game where you strategies may change depending on what your opponent does. One thing I disagree with is that you dont have all disease types unlocked from the get go, the same goes with pre-game upgrades, it makes the game feel very unfair for new players as you wont have these extra upgrades and your opponent can pick a more useful disease type, all of these things should be unlocked for everyone from the start to create a fair playing field where it relies entirely on strategy, not previously unlocked stuff. Multiplayer also adds other upgrades which are used to combat the other players disease which adds another layer to the strategy and learning time for this game. The game comes with a built in scenario creator which is this games "level editor" and it allows you to customize many attributes of how the game plays such as how countries respond to the disease or how the disease behaves. The amount of customization is very in depth and lets you change each and every stat about the disease. It lets you create new transmision and symptop effects and you can customize each of these in depth too, I am very impressed with how customizable this whole thing is and I lack the time to fully delve into it because of how extensive it is. You can even add routes for the planes and boats. I do wish the editor had a few more previews to see what the customizations look like, some areas have one and some dont. I would also like a "test play" mode where you can play out your scenario before finishing it. One thing that would be interesting is if you could get different "skins" for the map of the world, like maybe an old timey map that was drawn by hand, or a fantasy map that has little unicorn or kraken sketches, it would make for a fun unlockable. Overall, well worth the money but could do with a few small improvements.

my only gripe is that the fungus mode is unrealistic but it's a video game and it's fun so it's a non-issue.

I've been playing Plague Inc ever since it was a simple Flash game and I keep returning to it over and over again. Very simple premise but with a lot of complexity and variety. Excellent title for any strategy enthusiasts out there.

An okay little puzzle/strategy game. Though ultimately its theming is just that and doesn't have much to do with its mechanics.

Great game cant really fault it apart from 1 thing. In multiplayer you will come across BOTS these are clear and easy to see if you look at there games played wins/loss ratio. You will hardly win at all. if you do come across them in multiplayer just exit and find a new player. Apart from that this is a really epic game.

I am vary late in revewing this game. New plagues added frome time to time. A game takes me frome 30 to 60 minutes (until humanity is all dead, of my plague is). Interesting mechanics grounded in real pandemics.
