I haven't played much of this, but it is incredibly impressive so far, especially for a solo dev.
There is a ton of loot to find, and all of it is awesome. Even from the very start you are handed items with super cool and unique abilities on them that can completely change up your playstyle. From the very start, you're getting items with cool synergies that get your brain thinking about build possibilities.
The art design is fantastic, with a gritty look that is simultaneously old-school and modern. The movement mechanics are a joy to play with and make you feel like a god looking down upon the landscape as you dash and jump your way through the sky before landing with a thunderous lightning strike and annihilating the enemies before you.
I haven't even fought a major boss yet, but I am really looking forward to making more progress through this game and also seeing where the updates take it!

Imagine being doom guy, A stormcast eternal, and a grail knight. this is what that game would feel like, it feels magical to cleave through hordes of beasts and monsters, the sky nodes and being able to leave by just looking at the sky is awesome, the weapons feel great, the graphics and world are both beautiful. I can highly recommend this game.

Overall a good game. A very promising first person souls-like that is worth exploring. Although, I do have some gripes with the game, but they're mostly quality of life issues; like an inventory filter system would be nice, and when upgrading weapons, a window that will show what the upgraded item would look like before upgrading. Also, this game is can be unnecessarily brutal and tedious, and that is by design. Makes it a bore and a chore to go back to where I previously died, sometimes I just don't bother and either go somewhere else or just play something else. This design philosophy must be changed to make death a fun thing, like the souls series.
Regarding the new update, I haven't gone very far, however, I do have some comments. Firstly, the dialog and voice acting could use some work, especially the dialog which doesn't sound organic at all. The map seems huge at first glance, but also feels empty. Don't get me wrong, there are enemies and a handful of points of interests to explore however it feels lifeless. It needs something to make it feel more alive, like NPCs which give quests, more fauna etc.

Combat is satisfying, movement feels fluid, and landscapes are gorgeous.
While the current content is fairly short, VOIN is truly an amazing game with tremendous potential.

Incredible game! The combat is deep and skillbased, the freedom of movement is unlike anything else, almost like playing a superhero game. I just wish the soundtrack was more like Doom or Vermintide when the action kicks in.

Dying in this game is incredibly frustrating due to how much time it wastes for the player. Just let me respawn at a sky node instead of making me go through 500 teleporters to get back to where i was.

Found this by chance and I gotta say it's pretty Good. Here are my thoughts in no particular order:
The sort of pixely-art style in first person somehow works and the combat is very enjoyable.
When you get to your hub area you can adjust the difficulty via a ladder of skulls that lets you tune enemy strength in exchange for better loot. I did put all 3 options at about the third tier from the bottom (where it begins giving more Loot) and the game was a good mix of challenge and fun. If I left them at the default difficulty I personally feel it might have been too easy.
Another aspect of the difficulty is if you die you do have the opportunity to reclaim all your lost (uncleansed) gear as well as your ichor (currency) by returning to the spot and breaking open the blood orb, which will be marked by a giant pillar of red light. I died at one of the first early bosses and it seemed that when he spawned, the action of looting my lost items made him non-hostile until I attacked. Quite considerate! Not sure if this is an oversight but if you ever just wanna get your stuff back I found I could lower the difficulty and it'd still be there and much more easily gotten to.
By default your dodge button will be bound to shift and I had to immediately rebind it to space-bar. You will be dodging A Lot so make sure it's comfortable. When enemies attack they get a simple yellow outline, if you dodge during that period you perform a Perfect Dodge (this will come up later with certain item mods), and you become temporarily immune to damage.
Combat can be tough but rarely unforgiving. I also like the death screen, which sometimes gives me a genuine shock when an enemy does an attack and your screen just cuts to black as though you really did just die. A minor thing but genuinely immersive.
In terms of downsides, the item mods are cool but the secondary ones feel kind of dull. Which is understandable, they are secondary, but I wish they at least varied in accordance with the type of equipment it is and had more Oomph to them.
The game is pseudo-open world and if you traverse off the path too far your Master will drag you back in a cute way. Exploration can be fun and...disorienting. I was wishing for a trinket which let me leave a trail on the ground or something. It would just be much more fun with a map, I think. Even a simple one.
Still, I can feel the potential oozing out of this game. With more powers, more item mods, and more variety in general it could go from "Great" to "a modern classic". Wishing this developer all the best!

devil may cry-rim
you can sorta fly-rim
go fast and dont die-rim
yeah this game fucking owns. it has all the cool parts of skyrim like nice scenery and jumping up mt everest, but without all the tedium of a story, and without the restrictive and slow gameplay; it is fast like devil may cry (or at least my builds are, you can play slower i suppose); it has excellent crafting where you can make somewhat busted builds, but then you can raise the difficulty in 3 separate ways to make it exactly as hard as you want; the upgrade and crafting systems are sensible and easy to understand, but allow for quite a bit of variety so you can play like you want.
i know they are gonna add a ton more content to this game (version 0.3.0 as of this writing), and i look forward to literally anything they come up with. i would like to say that these 3 items are my biggest wants:
1. a map would be nice
2. i want fist weapons (3+ kinds of punch gauntlets - fast, medium, and slow, maybe with unique properties (i would love to be able to do falcon punch across the map, or charge up a big punch that explodes enemies fist of the north star-style, or do the ora-ora-ora-ora like star platinum))
3. performance could maybe still be improved - game looks GREAT, but not sure if it should be having fairly consistent framedrops. also not sure if that is due to some kind of LOD issue or some kind of texture streaming thing, or maybe my computer is doing it wrong (though i did use processlasso to try and fix it). the 0.3.0 update improved performance massively already but that may be due to some stuff i did on my computer (powerplay table mod etc).
(4). maybe some kind of kusarigama, or scorpion 'get over here' weapon would be dope as an alternative to the kick. i also feel like the kick should be more for pushing enemies away than just doing damage. whether or not a kusarigama is added, i would like the ability to, like, upgrade the kick so it can be used as a 'get off me' thing. like kicking does an explosion that pushes everything away (might already be a thing idk). or maybe if i kick the ground i can jump like 50 feet in the air so i dont have to keep sheathing my weapon
looking forward to 1.0 but make no mistake - the game is already worth buying and playing right now. a mighty achievement
