Experience the horrors of a haunting that's never the same twice. Paranormal is a 3D fully dynamic haunting experience. The player takes the role of Mattel Clarke, an artist who has a haunted house. Mattel decides to film the hauntings with his camera, which is the viewpoint of the game.

Should not even be on the steam store if it is abandoned and in early access for as long as it has been. Do not buy.

Sometimes a lightning bolt hits the primordial soup, and between the influx of energy and the ingredients present, amazing things can happen, things like Dwarf Fortress and Half Life.
Paranormal is a primordial soup with some very appealing ingredients that lightning never struck. Had the appropriate meteorological conditions been present, I believe this could have been a Moment in horror gaming. Really beautiful graphics without running like garbage. Thicc atmosphere, including some really nice sound design. The idea of a dynamic event system for replayability, and with that an immense amount of potential entities / happenings to encounter. Without the essential spark of life, however, these ingredients are just floating around bumping into one another.
As the last update to this early access title was in 2018, and it's now December of 2024, I think it's only prudent to give up hope for any sort of No Man's Sky turnaround for Paranormal. Instead, it will continue to exist as a congealed lump of something that could have maybe been a Silent Hill or a Five Nights At Freddy's, but never got the jolt it needed, and will now sit grayed out under the 'horror' header in my games list for all eternity because there'll never be any reason to install it again.
Rest in peace.
