Graphic bugs and easy to soft lock yourself

This game is a labor of love from a single developer, and it shows in the best way possible. Set in a handcrafted post apocalyptic world, it evokes atmosphere of classic Fallout games not in terms of scale or mechanics, but in spirit, tone. The narrative is surprisingly engaging for such a small project, with thoughtful details scattered throughout the world that reward exploration. It’s simple, accessible, and doesn’t try to be more than it is. If you're looking for a short, casual experience that captures the vibe of Fallout without demanding dozens of hours or a learning curve, this is absolutely worth the the price! For fans of Fallout, indie passion projects, or just anyone who enjoys wandering the ruins of a broken world, this is a small but memorable journey that deserves more attention.

I love the path that the project is taking, there are many improvements from the last version which are making the game enjoyable. The game is still in its early stages so bugs and mechanics will most definitely be improved in every new update.

I wanted to like it and i tried but it's just not that good. Balance is horrible. Enemies take so many bullets and you go down fast. It's level-instance based which is not a problem but it makes this game and world feel so empty. Also it straight up copies Fallout 4's opening just way worse and less interesting.

will update the review more later when i can and as it updates but as it stands it is a bitterly biting and scathingly dark satire of a post apocalypse that is both cute and critical of classical capitalist advertising in its presentation which is cleverly matched against a sharp yet crude sense of humor. the style of everythings western influence but totally trashed environmentally destroyed for explicitly more interesting and non nuclear reasons than fallout; at this point, the story is shaping up to be an even more thoughtfully sharp commentary than any of the more recently bethesda produced fallout games. the dialogue is good, and all of the ui and mechanics are very smooth with what is here right now. focusing on moment to moment environmental storytelling through active combative gameplay and lighter rpg mechanics to make the center the storys flow with detailed branching progression. the combat, while simple, is fun and the looting also feels good. all of the rpg mechanics that are here are directly in service of making bigger story decisions or having a more direct influence over the moment to moment story and gameplay by making it have a micro focus. its a fun and very well thought out way of doing things that evokes the limitations of classic fallout in a good way without containing its multitude of obnoxious soft locks. while the combat and rpg mechanical gameplay outside of storytelling do need some work, the story that is here is excellent and has been very compelling enough so to keep me engaged and in every way wanting to see more of this comical yet sharply witted post pocalypse focused on the comical obliviousness of humans that is to come. in short: while a short game experience thus far, the focus on the storytelling and polished presentation complimenting the gameplay and being only limited to decisions affecting the scope of the immediate, well told story -- make wastepunk a world worth engaging in and playing even at this early state that is in need of work. as it happens then, i for one, am excited to see what comes forward in this delightfully crass and human, post apocalyptic, rpg-lite.

This game feels like a modern take on the classic style of Fallout 1/2 and Wasteland with the map travel system having random events while travelling. I will say it seems pretty difficult when first starting out but after some time learning how to use the various weapons it gets pretty fun. Given the price, you cant go wrong with this game and im eager to see what else gets added with additional updates.
