It's an alright game if you liked the first part of Inscryption, but either lacks or doesn't alert the player to some quality of life features that make can make the gameplay annoying. The game's biggest problem is a lack of clarity about when you can or can't camp, and when items do or don't count against the item limit. If you screw up your only option is to power through or restart the game. That rubs me the wrong way, but if it doesn't bother you you'll enjoy the game. As far as I can tell there's no way to gather loose cards of the same type into one stack, pick a card out of the middle of a stack without splitting the stack, lock the cards to a grid so that moving one card to close to others won't send them skittering across the playing surface, close the rule book with one click, or drag the rule book around to get at cards under it without closing it.

SO FUN! I loved this game, played it nonstop for about 3 days straight until getting to the ending. The 1-bit art style is fantastic. The game pays homage to the Oregon Trail games without feeling like a re-make. Overall tone/mood of this game is unique in a way that I didn't know I was craving so desperately. I love how it's relatively easy to get the hang of without a lengthy tutorial, but it doesn't hold your hand and gives you plenty to piece together on your own--It feels like the creator trusts their audience, and I appreciate that. I would absolutely love to see more historically-set games with the same style and mechanic; I think it would lend well to a pirate theme, a medieval setting, maybe even a Stone Age survival game--No pressure, of course, just throwing some ideas out there ;) Definitely going to keep an eye out for more games from this developer.
