The Headline : Very good, especially for its age, but a little on the short side.
If you were ever a fan of Car Wars a role playing/ combat table game by Steve Jackson Games this is effectively the computer game version. Race round a significant variety of tracks and arenas with mines, smoke, oil, and a variety of guns - on most courses for the latter, and beat the opposition by fair means, foul, or a combination of the two. Rubber banding is strong so one bad crash won't take you out of most races but neither can you gain an unassailable lead on the other vehicles which makes for an entertaining game.
There's lots of cars to buy and lots of upgrades to buy for them.
Presentation is poor. There's no tutorial and accordingly I finished the tournament without knowing at any one time how many nitros I had, what rear mounted weapon I had equipped, and how much ammo I had in my gun.
Graphics are no longer amazing but definitely upwards of serviceable - the cars in particular look impressive on the grid once you've graduated upwards from Del Boy's Robin Reliant that's your starting car. Sound is mainly loudly revving engines which is good.
Difficulty is perhaps a little on the easy side although I noticed not that many players had completed the final tournament. Compared to Sonic All Star Racing Transformed where it took ages to get my S class licence Gas Guzzlers Extreme is very forgiving.
Main disappointment was that 12.6 hours isn't the longest time to finish a game but it's not the shortest either.
It would certainly whet my appetite for a greatly expanded sequel if someone felt like making one.
S.x.

I dont play many racing game so i dont have much to compare this game to. Reference i have its from race game from ps2 era. And this game fit it right. High pacing racing, crashing racing, car with guns, and blasting rock music. Very high dophamine game. Its fun to racing with guns, when you lose a lap you can just go gun blazing at enemies and drop him from race, arent that great. Its dont have end game so i stopped playing once i unlock all the car. The visual is busy work, lots of explosion and mc that keep talk one linear, in a way it give you high adrenaline to blasting everyone. The race track is great, short and not to complicated, just playing the map once and you can master that track, its cake walk but it is good walk. The map really emphatize to beat with guns but of course you can just play regular race mode without guns

For 3 Bucks on sale, its def. worth checking out, but NEVER buy it for 25€, It has the same quality as a Mid Tier Mobile Racing game from the early 2010s, its fun, but clunky, Story mode is kinda non existant, as you only have 3 events to choose from each race, random map, same game modes.
Crashday is Infinitely Better, but again, for 3 bucks, grab it, but not for 25 bucks.
