red flags galore, avoid both the game and the developer. it's always suspicious when a game has its own eula, especially from a random unknown dev. even more so if they claim not to have much time (which is fine), then spend it on wording a unique contract instead of working on the game. there's a demo, starts with an in-game pop-up to accept the eula, but the link is dead, so you either accept blindly or can't play. this should be fixed now but it's not. the full game has you accept the eula before starting installation (that's fine), then again when the game starts (that's not fine), but the link to the eula is still broken. fresh install of the full game on july 9, days after the supposed fix. the game is very basic, a flash game sold for $8 and it should be in early access. came out in march 2024 as a full release, no early access period, yet more than a year later it's still missing a lot of things, including basic functionality, and has a roadmap for the entirety of 2025. no mention of a timer toggle in the future, it keeps ticking on the top, doesn't do anything but distract and it can't be paused by bringing up a menu. and the worst part: the game promises 'save anytime' in the accessibility section on the store page, but that feature is only part of the roadmap for q3 2025. valve once again did the absolute minimum to fulfill some mandatory guidelines (that section should have a lot more options and info) and scummy devs couldn't have jumped faster to abuse what could be an extremely important and useful store feature. I had a brief discussion on the forum with the dev about all this and I asked them to remove the false information, but it's still there, advertising a feature that doesn't exist, and they removed the forum thread instead. but not before taking me for a fool and saying I don't know what 'save anytime' means, then explaining the game 'autosaves everything' but takes away progress if you don't finish a case. excellent stuff. here's a screenshot of the thread for proof and posterity. saw all the locked topics in a discussion forum meant for discussion and knew what was coming (and have an idea what's next, we'll see): https://imgur.com/a/jMJgJyx and as a bonus, they're selling the manual/walkthrough as dlc. classy. oh, and skipping the tutorial grants the 'solve your first case' achievement. great stuff. obviously refunded, just wanted to warn people to steer clear.
