Amazone is beautiful, engaging, and relaxing to play. The 'unexpected' elements make the solving of puzzles particularly enjoyable.

Fun adventure, never too difficult, even on the harder setting. One small point of critisism is that you can sometimes miss information within an item if you don't look carefully. But the overall presentation, story and setting are cool.

I have been adoring Benoit Sokal's games forever and played the original Amerzone a long time ago, but this is a whole new and beautiful experience. A big recommendation to all point and click adventure enthusiasts!

Ever wanted to spend hours tip‑toeing from one fixed camera point to another? Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy (2025 Remake) has you covered. It’s a beautiful, haunting first‑person adventure packed with poetic environments—think dense jungles, point‑and‑click puzzles, and deep philosophical navel‑gazing. No enemies, no combat—just you, nostalgia, and occasional journal entries from a dead explorer. Pros? Gorgeous visuals, moody music, and that rare game where actual thinking and reflection feel rewarded. Difficulty settings let you pretend you’re a casual traveler—or an adventurer who still gives a rat’s whisker about rusty gears. Cons? Let’s just say you’ll get to know the fixed-point teleport system intimately—like old-school Myst, but without the whimsical cheat to jump straight to Chapter 5 if you missed an item. Dialogues? Oh sure—they exist! Mostly as dusty monologues or audio postcards. Don’t expect lively NPC chatter or branching conversations—it's basically a guided sightseeing tour with voiceovers. A meditative journey for lovers of slow burns and thoughtful exploration. If you’re itching to press buttons and solve puzzles at your own pace—and don’t mind skipping cutscenes for the fourth time—this one's for you. *** Graphics (4/5): Unreal Engine 5 Lush, photoreal environments bring Sokal’s world to life—lush jungles, tranquil rivers, ruined temples, and volcanic panoramas. Dynamic lighting, volumetric weather, realistic water physics, and motion-captured character „appearances.“ Navigation remains fixed-point, but transitions feel cinematic and atmospheric. The Gameplay (3/5): First-person, point‑and‑click exploration focused on environmental puzzles, journal reading and logical item-use. Two difficulty settings: “Traveler” for the non-adventurous, “Adventurer” for hard-core puzzle lovers. Linear hub structure through five biomes; story replayability is minimal. Story (2/5) Narrative Genre: Mystical adventure with colonial critique and ecological reflection. You’re returning an egg of an extinct bird species as part of a dying explorer’s legacy in fictional Amerzone. Slow reflection framed through voice journal, environmental lore, and philosophical overtones. Narrative Integration with Gameplay is moderate — story supports puzzles, but motivations are reactive, not proactive - If you’re solving that rusty gear puzzle because the story says “do it,” good enough. In Amerzone (2025), your character isn’t pushing a personal agenda or evolving through decisions—they’re fulfilling someone else’s dying wish. You're reacting to what needs to be done, not actively shaping events or the world. It's a passive role in a poetic setting. Sound & Music (4/5) Dialogues (1/5) Ambient orchestral score by Ori Zur, a melancholic main theme by Inon Zur, and dense 3D environmental audio. Dialogues: Sparse and functional—mostly journal voice-over with almost no interactive character exchanges. It’s less “living people with motivations,” more “audio postcards.” DEI Tracking Details: In‑culture diversity is present via fictional factions and political undercurrent. No DEI consultant credits.

An absolutely beautiful remake of the classic Point and Click adventure game Amerzone <3 I played the original long ago, and this new and improved version is a jawdroppingly gorgeous, meditative journey. You can tell how much love and attention flowed into recreating this - the various locations are so full of little details, the music is wonderful, the creatures especially are beautifully modeled and animated. I often wanted to take a break from playing to just sit there and soak in the atmosphere, but the story is so compelling that it drove me to journey on. The story is very intriguing, melancholic yet with a sense of hope driving you forward. I apprechiated all the little side investigations and even though I felt like I crawled into all the corners I missed a few things which doesn't bother me because it gives me a good reason to play it again. :) There is a feature that lets you jump to specific chapters once you've completed the game to hunt down clues that you missed, in case you don't want to start again from scratch - apprechiated! I will definitely play through again, this time much slower, taking even more time to explore and just sit by the river, watching the sky and the beautiful nature all around. Thank you for making this, it gave me so much joy <3

Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy (2025) is a fantastic game. Of course, the graphics are great but the storyline is much improved over the 1999 version, especially in the latter chapters. The achievements are relevant to moving the game forward, so they are worth pursuing. The only one that requires long continuous play is the Radio Messages but the others are gettable by looking for everything while the game is played. Savegames are easily managed outside of the game as they are event driven. The restrictions and limited mobility make the game more playable for less experienced players so that's OK for me, (although others want more free roaming). I recommend Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy (2025).
