more complicated that kingdoms & castles but more challenging in 3-dimensional, generally more fun. performance on mac sucks though, requires toning down to bare minimum graphics unfortunately. maybe i just need a pc. congrats to the devs, great game

This game rocks! I love city/empire build games and this one hits the spot! I've never played a demo before this one. The slow build up and learning curve to how settlers work and figuring out how to place industry to minimize lag time was cool to finally realize. So looking forward to seeing the full release version and additions to this game!

Really nice and cozy vibes! ^v^ And a great upgrade from Kingdoms & Castles, both in graphics and game-play. The water mechanics/terraforming adds a whole new dimension to the city-building and opens for much more unique/interesting cities. Would have hoped for more content, the games progression if pretty fast, but the devs are still developing the game. Overall a great experience totally recommend :D

I have played quite a few city builder games over the years and this is probably one of the best i have played. All round the game is currently really good and looking forward to see what is added in the future. Some really interesting mechanics in the game, which have been implemented well too. One of my top mechanics in the game is the overall logistic system.

Cute game but suffers the same scaling and epoch upgrades of most simcity clones. There are some really fun ideas here but it's ultimately hamstrung by the classic 'my citizen wont walk 100 feet to get water' problem. I wish designers would grow past the design of original simcity and embrace non-linear falloff for amenities. Strict thresholds are just goofy and lazy design at this point.

I really like this game. It maintains the Kingdoms and Castles thread and the gameplay is very satisfying. The only thing I don't like oddly enough is the gods. I like the idea, but I don't like the idea of gods becoming mad at me for not dedicating temples to them. It feels like an unwelcome addition to a city-builder. That said, it is still a great game. I hope they tone down that feature or remove it completely.

Love the game. Having a great time with it. I have 2 suggestions thus far: I'd love to be able to place buildings before having the resources for them, and once those are available they can be built. Second, more priority options. We have the high-prioritize button for new buildings, but having a low priority would be very nice as well. I think timberborn does this really well imo. Looking forward to see this game continue to grow and improve!

Excellent game, only complaint is it's easy to miss when you are being raided until it's too late. A change in sound or a notification would be great. I can see myself spending hundreds of hours on this.

Played through the game in around 7 hours. Overall felt decently polished and a nice game in the style of its predecessor. For someone new to the series I very much recommend this game. You'll probably spend a bit more time enjoying the mechanics/ creative aspects of the game. However, as someone returning from Kingdom & Castles this game was a bit disappointing. It felt extremely similar, with some refinement and some jankiness. The main thing I think is lacking is some difficulty/ challenge. I played on hard mode and was fine the entire time. Even on hard mode the invaders rarely invade and when they do they don't really do much they burn a few fields, break a few buildings and leave. I understand that the game is trying to be a sandbox game but after around the 6 hour mark I felt like I'd pretty much done everything, I'd gone through the whole tech tree pretty much and there was nothing left to do but wait around for an unimpressive force of invaders to come every 30 minutes and get shrugged away by my walls. Beyond just a difficulty spike or more invaders like the survival mode might have, I want a larger purpose in the game. I think this game needs more than adding some new buildings and bug fixes; maybe I'm now trying to take over old Rome or Gaul or something.
