So this is an update to my last review. I was having trouble learning how to play this game so I got my son to learn it and then he taught me how to do it. I still have not mastered it but at least I am at the point where I could open the store. It is a bit easier then King of Retail 1. The building of the store, buying the products, stocking the shelves, etc takes some practice but once you get the hang of it you will like the play. Hang in there if you are just learning and once you catch on you will like the game.

Just like the first game but with way less "jank" and significantly better visuals. Tons of customisation, products and ways to manage your business. You can own multiple stores as well.

i have seen many complaints from other gamers commenting that the game is no diff from the demo also costing £20, after playing both i will agree that there are not many differences but the game at its current state shows promise the developer is active and updates the game often the graphics is loads better and the possibilities are endless i love the new build mode where you can create how you want you store exterior to look which KOR 1 didnt offer much in that regard also the display creator is a new fantastic feature that makes the game even more enjoyable. conclusion if you lack patience with the development of the game i would recommend waiting until after early access otherwise i would highly recommend this game
Warning: This game is still on early access, like other guys said, there's not much you can do on this current game version. If you really enjoyed previous game (King of Retail 1) and you don't mind this game is still incomplete at all, then it won't hurt to buy it and watch it grows now.
I was waiting for they one drop after enjoyed King of Retail 1, 2 added more elements on employee, display design ...etc which is really great. Also we got bunch new music tracks, listen to these lyric haha :P Things below is based on personal play, since the game is still on test drive, some of them might just undiscovered / getting fixed or is upcoming feature. Known missing part (like electronic and more other product, higher level delivery pad / storage shelf, HQ manager...etc) might comes in future are not included. ➤ Game performance is not that good smh. Maybe it's UE related since it ruined Oblivion Remastered for me. And there's a lot of loading screen... ➤ You can't see staff status when you on cash register duty, register's menu below is a bit annoying. If you need change their job or something, you need quit stand by first and re-interact the register again. Make it more compact and show + allow to check staff list at same time will be great. ➤ I was hoping in 2 we finally can get a player character leveling thing such like skills will be more fun. Like gain EXP and when you get higher level, those skill can increase speed of player's cash register check out, unpack, refill product / increase success rate of presentation...etc when you doing those actions. Also if we can do something for impatient customers (it's hard to tell in 2 but we got em here too) will be good. Default status are really painful, endless unpacking hell (even set time pass to 3 times faster). ➤ The break room and storage room are missing now, whyyyy? Tried to build one but: "The structure must from a single closed loop meaning every wall must connect to exactly one other wall at both ends." So, you can't build a separate room by yourself. Good thing is there's shape tool so you can smh make it looks like it. (Still no function object like coffee machine and advertise PC tho...) If we go all DIY way, the ability to select zone in build mode and defining its function (Like staff only zone, break room ...etc) will be good. ➤ We still can't save a filled shelf or building as a preset. Hope we can get the option someday. ➤ Finally you can build multiple floors, but that only means how high your building's ceiling is for now. Maybe in future we can build a real 2F or more? ➤ Some operate actions are not a very user-friendly design. Still feeling suffer when setting minmax value: Have to click and change numbers of them one by one, when it goes thousands of products, imagine that cause both my fingers and my mouse died. ➤ Recruiting is... kind insipid. In 1 we got real kind of interview and icons to showing NPC's traits, in 2 it's one paper full of text now. Also we can't send email / do campaign like we used do in 1, but in non - CEO difficulty's introduction part we get few day booster. So I guess campaign is upcoming feature. ➤ Interactions with NPCs are way simple too, really hope this will get improved in future. All NPCs are really like a bland dummy. Also NPC spawn is weird, they just showing up really close to your store. We got way more lively street view back in 1. Maybe it's hard thing to do since it might affect performance, but add some non-polygon background animated NPCs will make it better than empty ghost town. Some decorations like sofa, chair are just for show, NPCs are not gonna using it. ➤ Still can't change your character's appearance / info once you made one. For character making it's still only 1 preset (Edit: 1 set of facial parts like eyes), not much you can adjust, but we got other accessories so this don't really matter. Also can't change difficulty too once you started, have to make a new save if you want change it. ➤ Building mode missing bunch of actions such as multiple select and 1 step return, Have to reset all change in that session or roll back 1 by 1 in a manual way if you messed up something. Even its not full completed, so things you can do is limited for now, but King of Retail 2 is still good imo, still love it. Since it's early access, this game will be more substantial day by day.
It's pretty cool to be a witness and see how it grow. Look forward for the upcoming features :)

➤ Dohlar, thanks for the reply and sharing information :P The fact of "King of Retail 2 is programmed by one person" is pretty impressive. Cheers & keep up the good work!
I never played the first one but it seems like you need to play that one to understand this one because the tutorial barely explains anything. How do I open my store? How do I add multiple shelves? How do you navigate throughout the menu? This game needs major work.

I personally love this game. I see the potential! If you want to play a retail / store game with the highest level of realism, this is the place to come. This game includes: 1. Wide variety of products 2. Somewhat realistic ordering system (With a minimum system, which when used makes ordering a breeze) 3. Employees (Which I expect to have more personality added later) 3.1. Customizable specialties (I.E. can set to just stock, or just unload deliveries, OR BOTH, but not limited to) 4. Fully customizable layout & shelf design (I.E. Color, product placement on shelf, multiple shelving options) 5. While I'm not sure if its possible right now eventually you can build the store up to run by itself and you just occasionally visit at will. The way I like to play: I love to expand the store to have enough shelving to order every single product and store an extra case in back stock/storage, so the items can be refilled to keep the shelf full throughout the day. What I love: 1. The items stack neatly on the shelf when stocked, and visibly deplete as sold/bought 2. THE ordering system is top tier (With 1 catch I will mention below) 3. Nothing is too little/ too much effort to achieve your goal. The harder things tend to be 1 and done. What I dislike: 1. Want to see a screen with just item minimums with sales next to it. 2. I think the low tier employees are a little too picky, NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL though I have not tried the recruiting service yet to see what that pops out 3. Want to be able to click an empty spot on the shelf and see what item was there so I can order it, which is really important when you're low on cash getting started out because you may be struggling to order everything you're selling back. I think its too much effort especially if you have several items missing to manage the shelf and click the empty space, then go into the ordering menu and search for that item. What I would like to see: 1. Minimum menu (Not an ordering screen) where you can see every item (Or at the very least the ones you have non-zero minimums on) so you can adjust as you please easily 2. (What I love #2 Catch) While on the ordering menu would be nice to be able to press TAB on your keyboard to go to the next value of whatever you're editing (Likely how many of something you want to order) so you can use it in combination with your NUMPAD to breeze through adjusting #'s instead of having to double click each time. 3. Ability to click empty spot on shelf & see the item info of the item that should be there, with an On-Hand value, Minimum Value, and Order value Conclusion: I love this game, the complexity, and the strong attempt at realism. I'm sure I could sink a couple hundred hours into it even in its current early access state. I am excited to see future updates and what they bring. I give my criticism's very lightly & understand they pertain to things that are not in a finished state. -Disclaimer: There was very little that I feel like wasn't explained in the tutorial but I found it very easy to figure out. May be experience from the original King of Retail game. and my familiarity with real retail stores. Side note: If you have a beta track while my time to play is about to be trimmed down I'd love to be on it. Sent a friend request if you want additional feedback assuming there is a beta track. Not to tell you what to and what not to add, just for any bugs or glitches with detail. Will update review on a later update if needed (^ June 6th, 2025 ^)

Where do i start ? This game has taken me with storm, in a very good way :) In my opinion this is one of the best store simulators i have played so far... You can be so creative in this game, from the display creator and blocks you can make into different sizes... And the way this Developer is interacting with us on discord is outstanding, and this is early access so there will be some bugs now and then, but posting them on discord really helps :) If you like to run a store and like to manages staff and like to build, this is the game for you :)

Serious improvements over the previous game, which I put 150 hours into and enjoyed a great deal. However, I can see why people are disappointed at the state of the game now. There's very little to sell, food, some clothes. There's a lot of each but nothing like the variety we've gotten used to with the first game. So I recommend the game to anyone who liked the first one and is willing to be a little patient. For others you might want to hold off a bit.

I previously had the game refunded but bought again after working game out with the demo. Am enjoying it immensely. I had 770 hours on the first version. This game, when you get into it, is very consuming and very interesting. I am in my 70's so if I can handle it I believe most players should be able to. The more I play it the more I am loving it.
