cons: -Need to instal ubisoft launcher, -No family share, -Cannot do the multiplayer achivements, -Unplayable DLC´s buy them again.(had to install the dlc unlocker) Ubisoft being Ubisoft. Honestly, just pirate the game to be fair. You can’t even play the Freedom Cry DLC here, they force you to buy it separately.

this game was really good and a great story but the tailing missions were too repetitive but overall great game, great main character and good graphics for a game released in 2013 and the pirate idea was a fun one.

From playing is as a kid in 2015 to playing it on PC now, I can gladly say that the game didn't disappoint from the sailing to fighting, parkour, in game experience overall a beauty.

Do I love this game? Yes. Can I play this game? No. You have to do a bunch of things in the background to be able to play ACBF. Ubi should make sure you can play the games you have paid for. Their forum has tons of complaints about this and they have fallen on deaf ears. They refuse to admit they are wrong. DO NOT buy this. It's not worth the headache. Once you make it so you can play it, they will update their launcher and ruin it again. Yeah, not update the game, their launcher no one even wants. Plus, the remake is in July. Buy that one, until it no longer works.

do not tab out of this game to click play on a bad reddit iceberg as you will need to reinstall windows outside of that the game is overall good in both story and gameplay with the sailing ship combat being some of the best you will ever play but it is starting to show its age so you might run into performance issues or with my type of luck need to reinstall windows edit: I'm not saying black flag is the reason i had to reinstall windows as there was probably an unknown problem with my pc before hand with with black flag it caused enough of a problem to corrupt some windows files but at the same time there is an equal chance that i didn't have anything wrong or something that was wrong but not enough for me needing to reinstall windows I'm saying this more as a caution that it would probably be a good idea to play on a different pc that you don't care to much about/used specifically for older games

In my opinion, this is one of the best Assassins I've ever played. The story is brilliant and engaging, the locations are vibrant and detailed, there are many different missions, from hunting to exploration, and the ability to upgrade and customize the ship's appearance is a joy. Assassins are mentioned in the game, but I think the game is more about pirates, although there's plenty of stealth. The biggest drawback of all Ubisoft games is probably their launcher, which can let you play one day and then lock you out the next. Unfortunately, this was the case with Far Cry 3, but here I just changed the password once and everything worked fine, which is also a plus. My rating: ✭✭✭✭✭

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a game that surprised me a lot. There are many improvements over the previous game, AC III, and it’s still worth playing even in 2026. One thing I didn’t like, though, is the number of tailing missions. Sometimes it gets really annoying because it feels like every new mission has you following someone. Despite that, the game has some very memorable characters. My favorite was Blackbeard he was an absolute badass. The story follows Edward Kenway’s dream of becoming a rich pirate, and later he learns about the Assassins and their Creed. It’s a great story overall. The ship combat is awesome. At first, it feels incredibly fun, although it can become a bit grindy and repetitive if you’re trying to fully upgrade your ship. Still, the naval combat is very enjoyable, and attacking enemy ships feels satisfying. Hunting sharks and whales in the ocean is also engaging, and exploring islands while uncovering mysteries adds a lot to the experience. Edward Kenway is a very likable protagonist. He’s also connected to other major characters in the series, being the father of Haytham Kenway and the grandfather of Connor Kenway. With the remake reportedly coming soon, it’s exciting to think that more people will get to experience this masterpiece with modern graphics and gameplay improvements. 9/10 one of the best Assassin’s Creed games ever made.

I can't play this game that i paid for. Every time I try to play, it asks me to login to Ubisoft Connect. Keep in mind that I am already logged in, and when I enter my password but it says account suspended. For weeks I have been in contact with customer support but as soon as they fix the issue, it comes right back. It is frustrating that i can't play the game because of some issue on their end. I would not recommend buying this game for you won't be able to play it

Revisiting the game for the first time after beating it way back in 2014, i went in remembering mostly and faintly only the naval battles. But with age comes a different perspective and replaying it again in 2026, i found myself resonating with more of the parts of the game than i did in the past... The story seemed and felt more complete, the characters and their motives more fleshed out and humane ( with their merits and also their bad habits and passions ) and the main game's premise of freedom more realistic and down to earth in comparison to the boundaries in which it was set in AC III. The soundtracks are amazing and really accompany the piracy theme perfectly, the visuals still look very nice, the variety of the missions, given the bigger impact of naval battles and exploration between land and sea, are top notch and of course the main attraction of the game that is the warfare at sea is the best in every game that had been released until and since then. Also by purchasing the Gold Edition, i was able to play for the first time the Freedom Cry DLC and the small sequence of missions starring Aveline. The story was focused around the end of slavery and it was quite good, however the game didn't innovate with anything else new ( also a few bugs here and there, way more than the main game ) and thus the content felt good but with a lot potential lost. As for the small 3 missions of Aveline, the compact nature of them, the more classic ac format and her reappearance ( and Connor's voiceover for the intro ) were a nice touch, strengthened the bond between AC III and AC Black Flag and gave an even better aftertaste to the complete closure of the game's content. The game is overall still worth it for both newcomers and fans of the series and can provide a lot of entertaining time for all men of fortune, therefore is recommended especially with the Gold Edition. Played part of it on the Steam Deck and the performance was great and the overall experience fluid and enjoyable.
